Slipstream should be more realistically simulated and have a more significant impact on tire wear or engine temperature. - Tire wear should heavily depend on the driver's behavior. - Brakes alone shouldn't be the sole cause of tire temperature. - Dirty air should be more heavily considered to reward overtaking. - Drifting should be slower and have a significant effect on tire temperature. - Tire temperature should be more variable during qualifying and drastically affect grip. - Revamp the pit lane to allow for editing cars during qualifying. - Marbles should come from real players rather than the AI. - Less fuel should result in more speed and need to be managed by the driver. - Career mode should receive new features. - AI should develop at a similar rate to real players. - Car development should be shown in percentages instead of bars, similar to F1 Manager. These suggestions could make the gaming experience more realistic and engaging.

There is so much I would like to see in the new game: Constructors changing in the pitlane, being at the spot they finished the season earlier. More interactive my team/career mode (make own chassis, livery editor, calender editor) Better 2-player career, maybe even my team 2-player with 2 new teams. But mostly fix all the bugs there is with it. Manual pitlane driving (full control, like in Assetto Corsa) I could keep going, but I think you understand where Im going.

Simple: since EA has taken over, the game has literally tripled in price (at least here in South Africa) without offering anything substantial to validate such hefty price increase. Also, i think more and more players are becoming serious about sim racing and shifting to more accomplished platforms like assetto corsa and iracing...

From a league racers perspective the next game needs: A better ranked that promotes people who take it seriously and want good racing A better penalty system (not giving stupid penalties) Less bugs (I think that’s what most people think 😅) Fix the un equal kerb reactions There’s many more that other people have named so I don’t want to copy them but yeah lots of other issues that need fixing Personal preferences/musts: New engine which is an absolute must Better more realistic graphics like assetto corsa mods are better Realistic track models for all tracks (or laser scanned) Remove F1 world and supercars. If we wanted that we could go to the nearest ikea, for the supercars well this is an F1 game what’s a super car doing in it I could play forza instead Quicker patches to game breaking bugs

This is what i expected would happen with EA at the helm, many people said "give them a chance" when EA bought codemasters, but if you look at other EA sports games this is what happens. Everything will be more streamlined, very minor changes from year to year, basically a livery update and roster update, and maybe a few track improvements if they feel generous. The only thing that will see any major changes are the online aspects, and ways EA can make more money

I have no idea what to expect. But Tom97 did a vid on f124 being rumored to be built on the Unreal engine and a ps5 exclusive to help fix the connection problems. I think they may be doing this in light of the F1 Pro series coming back in April. Maybe doing it with that simultaneously. Which would be awesome to let the Pro F1 eSpoet drivers show case the new game and engine during the event. How many ppl would watch it then? New game show cased at the Pro series championship!!?? Would be epic. To me anyways.

At this point we should all just continue racing on F1 23 online so CM and EA feel the loss and we essentially force thier hand to build an actual game that works properly. 24 will be no different than 23 imo. Especially if it's being released this early. That means it will be riddled with all sorts of bugs and most likely unplayable at times until they roll out the 16 patches by July. Given the history of the games, I'd say dont expect much from 24

Me and a few friends of mine who played the F1 games were so disappointed from F1 22 that some of us never bought the 23 game. A few of us bought it on sale and played it for 10-30 hours and quit it. I went to AC, ACC, Project Cars 2 and I-racing. The last F1 game I had fun with was F1 2020 on PS4 and I bought that game 2 years ago for PC and played even today. It could be possible that many were disappointed from the 22 game too so they dont bought the 23 game or tried it later on the gamepass.

It could be as simple as they think a June release is too late into the season. Ideally speaking IMO the new game should be released as close to the start of the F1 season as possible; so we have more of the F1 sesson coinciding with the current game. Bringing forward a few weeks helps there.

While F1 2023 was an improvement over F1 2022, I still feel like the basis was the same and it didn't feel significantly more fun. - Traction has been improved but it still feels unrealistic and the feedback is poor. - Finding online games in multiplayer is a nightmare and there are server errors in a consistent manner. - Racing point (aka story mode) does not provide much to the game, it could be dropped - F1 World required a lot of management but this game mode does not add anything more than any other game mode, it could also be ignored. - The classic game modes (quick race, career, time triel) could use improvements to make them more fun and/or customizable. In short: Fix the handling & the online lobbies, and remove unnecessary game modes to focus on improving the basics.

Its very simple - summer (june-july) is generally known to be a terrible time to launch games, launching a bit earlier will probably mean better sales. Hopefully this doesnt mean they will compromise quality...

There's an extra layer on why the F1 games could been doing worse is EA ending regional pricing that codemasters offered plus the overall increase of new games to 70 dollars. The new game here is costing 350 Reais and the premium edition is 450 Reais. That's equivalent a month's grocery. Also there wasn't any big jump in quality between the game, but EA did added a lot of microtransactions. In 22 they added that room decoration thing that was pointless, and in 23 they added that car leveling up system that you could buy your way into having the best car. Nobody wants that in a racing game.

They did stick it on Xbox Game pass last year though, I believe the first year that it made an appearance on there at least early in its life cycle. That will have definitely made the sales figures look worse.

I run a league, and we have seen quite a drop off in players over this final season on F1 23, and they’re all saying “it’s not the league, it’s because they’re bored of the game” I don’t blame them. The on track experience hasn’t improved much over the last 6 years. It needs a new engine. They still haven’t built a true current Gen title that makes the most of the PS5/XBSX power. The only improvements that seem to appear are F1 World nonsense and ways to monetise. It’s a shambles!!

I always purchase last year's game when the new one drops, because they go on sale for under $20, and with all the drivers the same for 23-24, and an extremely similar calender, so save yourself $60 and just get 23 when it goes super cheap

They could better patch a previous game and sell the new track/liveries as a dlc. Do that for a few years until the FIA introduces new buildrules like in 22 and 26. I still use F1 2018 when wanting to race F1 cars.

I'd be more inclined to buy if they actually expanded upon the career modes to make them more in-depth. The driving experience is what it is and I don't see that changing much, but with that being the case, adjusting the driving won't make me buy a new version because I'm already fine with the current driving for the most part.

I have heard of a few leaks, some stating that F1 24 is on UE4. I do not believe them to be true, but the evidence they pointed out is interesting. On the F1 24 game page, there is no EGO trademark or mention.

I hope they’re trying to push it earlier for the sake of being more aligned with the actual f1 season. If you look at other sports titles, almost every single title is released just before the actual real life schedule which would make sense imo. Also I think the amount of problems they’ve had with 23, maybe they just want a fresh clean plate because patching all of it seems not probable. Its obvious they’re losing players fast and maybe they need to switch people focus to something new and positive . F1 esports also could be a small factor as I believe other than the money talk problems, f1 probably doesn’t want to fork the money out for a broken game that doesn’t work half the time. Everyone was so ready to ditch 22 for 23 but it’s arguably worse and we’re back to the same spot we were last year, waiting for the new f1. Changes need to happen now and hopefully this is the start of it.

New and improved engine. Everything good about the previous games. Less bad things from previous games. Essentially a new, modern game. There will be bugs, but ideally they'd be because it's a new game rather than returning bugs. (It's not going to happen, but I can dream)

If they want people to take the game seriously, it needs to get rid of ALL the Arcade Elements and become a fully fledged F1 Racing Simulator and all that entails. Or at least have a distinct separation from what is Sim and what is Arcade. Right now it feels like they've tried too hard to implement Arcade and Sim into a single product that very rarely satisfies either.

I think with rise of other sim racing titles the f1 games have fallen behind by so much. The only reason to actually get the game is for e-sports or the myteam mode. Outside of that, what real do we have to play? You can do much more with other titles.

Great analysis. Have you seen the comments in the codemasters' social media about F1 24? I bet this game is going to sell even worse than F1 23 because there are no new graphic engine and becasu the improvements are not why people really were asking for.

I have quite a few versions over the years for the F1 games. I like that last two games provided VR into the PC games, and I like new tracks that not in previous versions. I only do quick races or time trials in F1. Not a big fan of doing Career modes in any game. just give me any car on any track and see how I do. Only do short races, don't have the time to do long drawn out full racing. I know people are having problems with VR, but so far F1-22 and F1-23 seem to work fine for me. I turned off a few settings in F1-23 and there are only very tiny jitters if looking left or right. While racing I hardly notice them. :Only do day races in VR when possible and good weather. I will not get F1 24 until the pricing is low. I just bought F1-23 for 17 dollars on sale in STEAM for my PC. I have no issues with the F1 games since I am not a Fanboy of F1 and do not know all the nitty gritty of F1. It is just another racing game to me to have fun with.

New game engine. AI that's not homicidal. As someone else said, take some features from F1 manager and add them to the My Team mode. Less reliance on the overtake mode.

I feel 23 was much better than 22, but needs some extra in 24. I would like to see... "my-team" added in two player career mode, also option to have 4 player career mode would be great. new game engine with better graphics, utilize unreal 5 engine prehaps? live commentary when safety cars come out in multiplayer improved AI , always super crazy behavior first couple of laps.

Or maybe they want to bring closer the newer F1 games release to actual start of the season, so for F1 25 they will have a whole year to implement new features. In this case F1 24 probably will be a carbon-copy of F1 23, but given they don't introduce new features they don't need to fix bug, so more time for F1 25.

Yeh the staleness is real, I myself have pivoted to MotoGP games to freshen things up and I'm loving it. Different handling, new tracks, new challenge. But F1 23 is a noticeably better game than F1 22 imo, if you just examine all the factors like handling, traction, AI, just being able to get into it, tracks. And yet you're right, people are playing it less, when you thought they'd have played it much more than '22 cos it is better in many ways. It's like an inversion of how you think it would be, it's weird. And I think you're right JD, it's a sign how much Codies have dropped the ball, same repetitive stuff every year, too many bugs, '22 annoying so many players to the point they've left the F1 space altogether and play different games instead. Whatever it is, you know something' bigger picture has gone wrong when the BETTER game gets played LESS. Very strange

codemaster is late for a new engine, they could have released in 3 opportunities. 2020 for the new gen of console, 2021 for the epic season or 2022 for the new era of cars, we are closing to another era of cars again and nothing new on the game

I'll be honest; i think the reasin for an earlier release would be that they didn't make money on f123. If the game flops again, they will go for early release again. The game won't be any better than 23, but it brings in money earlier.

I also think they should be releasing it around the start of the season anyways. They should not be waiting till half way through the season of a games sport to release the game. I also think in F1 23 their horrible battle passes, filled with parts for F1 world instead of cosmetics, the shop never changing and the amount of unchanged issues in racing just made this game so boring.

plot twist WRC is the guinea pig to implement UE for F1 24 , meanwhile they´ve learned alot about the engine and graphically it will be also better 🙃

I feel like many people got sick of f1 21 and 22 as they were quite bad compared to f1 2020. More players might have explored other games, and are probably enjoying them more than f1 21 and 22, so no need to buy 23 at all. I do think f1 23 is a better game than 21 and 22, especially handling, but I still miss classic cars. Would be fun to drive a renault 2004 on this game. A reason why they might move the release date is because it is earlier in the f1 season, so there might still be more hype, before red bull win every gp again. And it is before all the holidays instead of somewhere in august, so people might have more time to play it.

I never get rid of the jitter and lag on F123 with VR, even if my computer and GPU was much over recommended requirements. Finally i gave up, it wasn't worth it. I never have this issues with IRacing. For me personally, I would like a diversity between Sim and Arcade mode. I like Sim, and prefer not to see any of the arkade thing. I want to jump directly into the sim part.

1 HUGE issue with EA probaply wanting to align the F1 game release with the real F1 season. And i believe too little people talk about it. It's car performance. With games like EAFC the players in the game are easier to predict how they would play in real life. It's easier to predict. If there is 1 thing that is hard to simulate before an F1 season starts it's car performance. And the amount of patches the game would need in the early stages would be too much to match Real life. I do not think it is a good idea to release the F1 game any earlier. For especially career mode players the experience might be off even more in the first season compared to real life.

Theres got to be a way to penalize drivers that RAM you at the start of race. Also not getting tagged with a 3 second penalty when hit from behind. open server races are ridiculous. Lot of kids playing it now. looking forward to the new version for its revamped version of career mode. Also Change the world race prizes .I have over 300 contracts i cant use.

If F1 24 doesn't support PSVR2 then it will be another year if skipping for me. This year I waited until F1 23 became available on EA play & now PS plus. While I enjoyed the game, after playing Gran Turismo 7 on PSVR 2 there's on way I'll pay £60 for flat screen only racing game.

it's been really sad to see the decline of the F! games. I played since 2010, skipped 2014 and 2015 purely due to not having a console to run them on but then had every game from 2016 to 22 on PC. 2020 is still the peak for me, so fun to play and to mod. 2021 was a let down in many ways and I only bought 22 for the VR support. This being not as fun as I anticipated with the horrible traction at launch as well as the early access debacle put me right off and I didn't even consider buying 23. They've well and truly lost me.

I got into sim racing in 2018 because of the f1 series.. bought it every year, was slightly above average played on about 104ai. Bought a pc in DEC last year, bought f1 straight away and I`racing. Played iracing 1 time and it was immediately more immersive. Played over 100 hours of iracing in 8 weeks. I’m pretty good and addicted Played f1 for 18 minutes. Content and my team is so boring now and would say I’m done and won’t buy another Probably 10’s of thousands of people who have nearly the same experience as me!

Ea put f1 23 on ea play. Always a sign that sales are under performing

In my opinion it's not really because of F1 23 game, but mainly because last season of real F1 was quite boring, it didn't bring any hyped gamers. Also we didn't get any of F1 eSports series that is the main event of the game for me. Hope that F1 24 won't need this things to defend itself and will bring more players because it's a good game, not because people like F1

They just dont do the right stuff with it. Like, who cares about f1 life and all of that. Its such a pointless mode. Braking point is also something thats not going to bring in players, while it does take up dev time they could have used in other areas.

I think the prise of games is getting a bit steep. One can pay 60 to 70$ a game. That's for a fresh new entry with new features. But just a overhaul on better graphics is really not worth the 60 to 70$ priss tag. Yes I myself fall into yeah better graphics means better game but that alone dose not make the game good and enjoyable. That's the thing I think the Devs must change is rather stick to the graphics we are used to and actually focus on improving the actual game. Make it more fun

I hope I'm wrong that they aren't possibly bringing F1 24 with a new engine. Building the game from nearly scratch in UE5 would take a lot of time and manpower, that I don't have a glimpse of hope that EA would attempt this year. Maybe they are starting or have started recently, but this soon I doubt. I expect another mess of a game and maybe even another before we get a new engine.

What people seem to forget is that this is what ea has been doing with games like Madden for years; Increased price with the main selling point being either features they removed coming back or the new updated rosters. They don't try because the communities never give them a reason to. F1 is a community filled with determined, dedicated individuals, and I think people should boycott 24. I won't be buying it unless there's significant changes, or there's a major sale.

i ve played every game since 2012 , i will not buy any more F1 games before a bigger change with this price tag .. if u jump into any other game , Iracing , raceroom etc with formelcars , its much more fun to drive right now

1 simple reason. EA. Do the least amount of work for the most amount of money. Wouldn't bet against this year's being another copy and paste job. They do the same with their football and Madden games. Dreadful company.

it should already be out if they are just going to use the old helmets and liverys... like come on EA.. the same tired ass customizations you had in f123 are in the WRC game... like same shit... how can you not make a new helmet design...
