The REAL reason why Scottie Pippen is attacking Michael Jordan

Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen dominated the 1990s by winning 6 NBA championships together. The Chicago Bulls have never been beaten in the NBA Finals with Jordan and Pippen leading them.
The two have been considered the greatest duo in NBA history and it will be very hard to argue against it.
Their brotherhood started in 1987 when Pippen was drafted by the Bulls until their early retirement years.
But Scottie is attacking MJ nowadays with every chance he gets. Some said that it all started after the showing of The Last Dance where Pippen was apparently not happy with how he was portrayed in the Emmy Award-winning documentary.
But it started well before The Last Dance and it was way deeper than it is.
Find out why Scottie Pippen is attacking Michael Jordan left and right and how the once unbreakable brotherhood between the two ended in the blink of an eye.

It's all about the money. Pippen blaming everybody else for his own bad business decisions. After the Last Dance documentary, Pippen gets light of the fact that Jordan got paid a few millions, while Pippen and everybody else got nothing. So he decides to write a vicious book to take revenge and cash in. Great basketball player, small person... really sad

If they had any compassion for him once he was delivering they should've paid him. They had the power not to and they expressed it. Scottie nor Mike could do anything about it, no power. @@LanierHale-oq3dr Back at that time Jordan didnt have the money he has. The Bulls organization and their owner could buy Michael 15-20 times over so yeah- he wasnt a big factor in the managerial level operations. He was the golden goose but beyond his whims and demands as a player he didnt have much say and he resented this especially Jerry Krause who Jordan hated because he made decissions without asking Jordan and jordan had to oblige because he was bound to a contract. This is why you dont see jordan today saying many nice words for the organization. He totally separated himself and his brand from the Bulls organization if you havent been paying attention.

Robin can spew all the hate he wants about Batman (after the fact), but he was NEVER going to drive that car. Scottie had two years without Jordan to prove he could win without him on the Bulls; he couldn't. Scottie had a chance to win after Jordan retired; instead, he was a part of one of the greatest chokes in playoff history (Lakers vs. Blazers game 7, WCF 2000). It's too late to save his legacy now (he's already said and done too much stupid stuff), but he should have just been grateful that Jordan got him 6 rings, onto the Dream Team, and into the HoF. Jordan may have a prickly personality, but Scottie wouldn't have ANY of those accolades without him.

It doesn't mean that Jordan couldn't have won without Scottie. You all using that "Jordan never won without Scottie" like he couldn't have won with somebody else. The forward drafted before Scottie, 7 footer Brad Sellers, Drafted 7th the year before Scottie didn't work out and was soon gone. The Bulls tried trading Scottie for Shawn Kemp, and Tracy McGady. The deals fell through. Mike might not win 6, but I bet you he wins with either of those players. Probably more. He never had the opportunity to play with another All-Star level player. Look what happened when Kobe got another All-star in Paul Gasol after Shaq left. They both won with other all-stars.

Jordan gave Pippen his flowers but didnt give him a dime. He made the documentary without asking any of the players anything and he was the only one raking in profits from it while nobody else got no royalty and yet the footage of them, some anecdotes are being used. So yeah when you are raking all the money, awards, recognition and getting all the spotlight, ofc you are gonna be humble and give everyone flowers. If Pippen was getting payed more than Jordan, I know Jordan would have protested and God knows what he was gonna do - might even leave the team. Pippen has lots of reasons to be angry and I would be too in his place. Many people dont have the slightest idea what is like to be a second fiddle to someone else putting up tremendous effort to be a team player, sacrificing a lot, including your ego, everything for the team and to see it later just 1 person getting all the accolades and recognition just because their role was more prominent but you know full well that without you that person wouldnt have been what he is today without you. And you get nothing for it or at least very little. Scottie could have been a franchise player in any other club easily. I wonder if he asks himself this and how different all of this would have been if he stayed in Seattle.

@robotube7361 3 ай бұрын
@@tcausey32 Actually, yes he does. He owes them royalties for the last dance. He never asked them to use their likeness for the documentary and they can easily win in a court case technically. There is a libel also. Its just they never went that far with it. One thing is to defend Jordan at all costs and another is to admit that he was wrong to put up a documentary out there about them- its not just about him and air some dirty laundry there too, like talking about how Sotty faked an injury when in fact he wasnt faking. It's not about money here. It's about being a team player which means he didnt consult Scotty Pippen about anything and that is not how shit goes when you are friends with somoene. Obviously you dont know jack shit about what is customary and what isnt and what is fair and what isnt. The Last Dance wasnt a documentary- it was Jordan's personal view of things and this is also one of the issues- being seen as documentary and this is why they are upset. Its not the whole picture and they are being talked about in it and its presented as how it happened when in fact its how Jordan saw it. So that not being mentioned is a little bit insulting. Then you say: "They should make their own money" and when Pippen publishes a book and expresses his views about Jordan- he is seen as the bad guy. Now the rest of the Bulls doing the No Bull Tour is them making money- and once again its not good. I mean Jordan fanatics are as messed up as Lebronze fanatics. I dont see nothing wrong with the no Bull tour and yet somehow that is a no no- How dare they criticize Jordan, the Black jesus but its ok when he does the same to others in the Last Tour? Mind you this- ex Bulls Players know jordan better than Jordan deluded fans and lots of what they say is true despite your inability to admit it and sorry but he ,might be the best basketball player but you need to learn to separate him as a person from the basketball player and he does have major faults as a human being So stop bithching about Pippen and others airing the dirty laundry because he did the same in the last dance. He owes the truth to many people, and I get horace grant luc longly and Pippen for having enough of his shit.
@robotube7361
@robotube7361 3 ай бұрын
@@gdimedime7431 He is doing the No Bull Tour where they tell their side of how things happened and suddenly Jordan fans lambast them for it while Jordan can go and say shit about his teammates. Take for example talking about Rodman. The only thing he said about him was actually embarrasing thing- how he had to knock on his door and caught him with some Playboy bunny. Out of everything positive and good one can say about Rodman - like Rodman really helping the team becoming a contender after the season they lost- ah nah Rodman is this goofy guy who likes to party- and not a single word about his own casino days problems and long nights gambling and drinking which his PR team fought for years to cover up. I mean, cmon. Jordan does this to all his "friends". He makes fun of them but when someone says something about him- HOW DARE THEY. His army of fanatics would scour the earth looking for blood. Notice how some even dare to say charles barkley is in the wrong for telling the truth that Jordan have done a bad job as a owner of the hornets. then its friends should say bad things about friends but Jordan can insult and criticize Barkley for not having championship mentality. Sometimes I wonder how people can be so blind and biased to go to that point where they would defend their idols no matter what- even when the side that criticizes is completely in the right. Get real man. Jordan, the person, off the court has as many flaws as any other human being and its time to accept that as a positive not negative thing when somoene airs his dirty laundry.

@donniehenderson1916 man you have no idea what you're talking about. Jordan's teammates did not make him better. He made all of them better through his work ethic, approach to the game and his desire to win. He literally had to instill confidence and toughness in those guys. Bird and Magic were great players but they didn't have to work as hard to make their teammates better because their teams were already stacked with hall of famers. Jordan was the only superstar in the 80s who didn't have an all star teammate like most of the other stars at that time. Jordan sacrificed his numbers to win when Phil and Tex introduced to triangle offense. So his teammates didn't make him better. They were forced to step up and help him win.

I know Pippen is probably upset with his ex and the current life situation. But I think this all still stems from him not getting paid. The Bulls themselves aswell as Jordans team advised him against accepting his deal. Had he done a 3-4 year deal, he would've had a massive 2nd contract.

He wasn’t happy how he was portrayed by the Bulls Last Dance documentary, so he was attacking him for absolutely no reason. Those guys were like Batman & Robin on the court. Scottie felt he was jealous of Michael’s success as a player. Michael’s son Marcus Jordan was dating Scottie’s ex-wife, so I’m glad they’re not dating anymore. He was playing victim card. Michael Jordan himself doesn’t approve his son’s relationship with Larsa. He’s too old to be beefing with these guys and it sounds stupid to me. He’s coming after everybody in the NBA. He is bitter and a butthole for that.

Funny you guys should mention his bad investments and real estate deals. I used to always drive past the mansion he bought in Portland when he played there and he F’ed up that deal too. I think he was waiting to get a better price and then the market crashed (in 2008) and then he sold it at way less than what he was hoping for. When I learned that, I was dumbfounded because he had left Portland years earlier. Like what advice was he following?

Scottie Pippen isn't satisfied with being named among the 50 greatest players to ever play the game. He isn't satisfied with being a six-time NBA champion, his recognition for his ALL-NBA incredible defensive skills, or his ALL-Star game appearances. It's no secret that Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen have had a complicated relationship in recent years. Their "friendship" was put under even more strain after the news broke that Jordan's son Marcus was dating none other than his former Bulls teammate's ex-wife Larsa Pippen. Scottie needs to find a way. to move on with his life because toxic anger is an inappropriate way to express overwhelming emotions and often signals an acute loss of emotional control. Scottie has already gone down this path, it's sad to say. I have had many discussions about this (Word) call friends, you don't have any real friends because as soon as things aren't going accordingly, they come against you. So, I say it's better to walk alone than in a crowd because negative energy is unhealthy for a reason, and I refuse to allow someone to ruin my happiness.

How did it make him look? He did everything. Pip had the reputation of being soft (Det series migraine), selfish (tried to force a trade to Clippers, wasn’t in doc) and made bad decisions with his contract. Funny thing is MJ showed how he played with a bad back in 98 and it showed he wasn’t soft and selfish (imo he still selfish though) but no one pays attention to that. TLD was told Pip’s redemption story.

if it's not jealousy then why didn't Pippen send Jordan his condolences when his father got murdered? he had to have harbored some kind of resentment towards Jordan if he failed to do something so simple don't you think? Most people grow wiser and more mature when they grow older. They realize most things they thought mattered didn't and doesn't really matter. Mike included Pippin in every accolade, award, championship he won. Saying Scotty was part of it all, everything. It wasn't good enough. Scotty wanted more. He went out on his own and couldn't win a ring. Thank God for that cause his crying would be so much worse. Scotty is the youngest of 11 kids which means he was probably on the spoiled side, got most of, if not, everything he wanted...all the attention. MJ did everything he could. The only thing MJ didn't and couldn't do was what Scotty wanted. Scotty wanted to be Mike. Scotty cemented his own legacy when he quit on his team when they needed him.... and Tony hit the game winner with him on the bench pouting. He himself did that to himself. Mike put that out there for the world to see. Maybe he shouldn't have? I highly doubt Mike's point was to degrade Scotty but then again Mike thought he knew Scotty as a bigger man than he actually was.....he wouldnt be offended. Did MJ confer with Scotty before putting that in the documentary? Maybe, but I would think not. However, in that moment, Scotty showed everyone and the world, the person he became when he refused to play when Phil gave Kukoc the nod to take the shot. The world found out he was a selfish teammate. Threw the championship years, MJ thought he had a brother in his fox hole and maybe Scotty was for a while. But, at some point, his selfishness got the better of him. Now, I see him as a spoiled kid, screaming, jumping up and down, holding his breath, until the world sees him as better, or, as good as Mike. Mike is an asshole and needs to draw it back a little with his holier than thou attitude thinking people should bow or genuflect when he walks in a room but Pippen is wrong in his attacks and its getting old. Mike don't owe him a dam thing.

Some points are both fair and valid. However, some of these things are unfair to Pippen. The Last Dance definitely wasn't the start of the friction between Pippen, Jordan, and the Bulls, but since it completely ignored the "supporting cast" of talented players -- without whom no NBA titles were possible -- it must have been a slap in the face for them, especially Pippen. However, I must also add that Jordan has been rather consistent for years in his insistence that Pippen was always there... however...we can't know what it was like without being there ourselves to experience the environment. People can say anything.
