The video explains the most complex of topics in refraction *TORIC TRANSPOSITION * in the most simplified way . Toric transposition is the representation of the powers across the anterior and the posterior surface of the toric lens . Its a transposition that is carried out at the manufacturing level of the lenses whereas simple transposition is carried out at the dispatching level.
The toric formula consists of the numerator that denotes the refractive power of the anterior surface of the lens ( usually spherical) and the denominator respresents the toric meridians. The less powerful of the two meridians is called the BASE CURVE ( BC) and the more powerful of the two is called the CROSS CURVE of the toric surface .these are oftern perprndicular to each other and represented in the denominator of the toric formula.
The video discusses the steps of toric transposition in a simple way
step 1 : carry out simple transpoistion to make sure that the signs of the given base curve and the cylinder are same
Step 2 is finding out the numerator
step 3 is finding the base curve
step 4 is finding the cross curve
follow this video and watch it again to understand toric transposition like never before. Toric transposition thats often not taught well and is mistaken by many as simple transposition .
