So what would you recommend if someone had really curly hair to determine where the strength is?

Omg! I don't know how u know exactly what video everyone needs to see but u do! Your videos should be sold to beauty schools to help struggling students because sometimes the instructors just can't explain the way u do! I have learned more with u than I did in school! So many students could not understand how to just cut off split ends!

I've been using this technique for years!! It's an awesome tool to have for long hair... I always during my consultation when we have talked through their wish, I confirm by asking 'as little as possible, but as healthy as possible, right?!?' And they always say yes.... but ALWAYS follow a cut like this up with a costumised recommandation as to home care and even how long they should go between cuts...

I bleached my hair for years, & it didn’t grow. After I stopped in 2016, my hair is almost to my tailbone. I don’t use any heat appliances, & always dry natural. Great video!

Can u please also do a video on cross checking! When I was in school no one knew how to cross check! One instructor would say to cut the hair u see when ur cross check, one woukd say dont! No one explained whether to hold hair straight up in cross check or hold hair the same way u cut! These were questions we had and never got clear answers too!

Cross checking is important for connected cuts and precision cuts. It helps you stay consistent and see where you're overdirecting or losing tension when you don't mean to. To cross check, take a subsection in the opposite way you cut it, same elevation and overdirection. Say you take vertical section when cutting graduation, elevated it to 90 and cut the line at 90, you would cross check in the opposite sectioning. Take a horizontal section and do the same elevation and OD. You will see a clean line if you cut it consistently.

I just came across this video trying to get more information on clipping split ends. It was so helpful and very informative. I just have one question, what information could you give for Natural(not relaxed) African American hair? I know clipping would be more difficult considering our hair isn't straight and the ends are curly/fuzzy which could give off the confusing empression of split ends. Please help, if you have the knowledge and you can. Thanks! Subscribed!!!

any advice for someone who got their license a few years ago but didn't go into a salon? I would like too now but I'm afraid they'll see my waiting a few years as a lack of interest or something like that. I have been doing makeup (and some highlights/color every now and again) since I graduated and got my license.

I have tons of split hairs despite air drying (only blow dry in winter when really have to) :( I cant use most professional stuff either because I cant use anything with perfumes :( anyone know a brand that is natural with no perfumes? Even some essential oils are difficult for me because I have mcs. I just had a baby a month or so ago so my hair is even more dry now. I dont use heat on my hair except the rare occasion..and I started using a t shirt to dry instead of my towel. I'm guessing my health issues play a big factor in my hair. Mcs cfs fibro etc

So if the goal was to grow out your hair would you recommend a longer period of time in between cuts? hair on average grows about a half inch every month. (5-6 wks) so you'd cut a quarter of an inch? i usually recommend my clients growing their hair out about 3 months in between cuts as long as they are keeping their ends healthy and closed with a serum/oil, I feel like it would be fine. Just curious about your take on that!! Always learning! thanks!

I'm not a professional or anything (I just enjoy these videos) but it has always bothered me to see the videos with the twisting and snipping. I guess people just assume that if your hair broke, it has a split end. The Split Ender tool bugs me, too.

Does hair really grow if you cut the ends though? .-. hair grows from the follicles not from the ends. You can't make hair grow faster because because it keratinates once it's out of the pore. idk I'm just a first year professional hairdresser student.
@FreeSalonEducation
@FreeSalonEducation 7 жыл бұрын
+Time Axl you can't make hair grow but you have to keep it healthy. The goal is to cut less that it grows so if hair grows a quarter of an inch per month the every 6-8 weeks you cut a quarter of an inch. Plus do everything else I said.

It's always going to grow but by trimming it often helps it not break at the bottom which results to longer length you can keep
