It will never be what it was, it was cool people on a cool network doing stuff that had never been done before on tv. These people seem like they were cool without trying too hard and not everyone was super telegenic!! Unlike today where reality TV is just grouping together the rich and the beautiful and making them fight over petty shit. And then influencer culture -- don't get me started on that.

The Real World was amazing in its original days. So much heart and soul. Pedro’s presence and contribution to society was literally honored by Presidents! So sad the Real World lost that magnetism

Kameelah is the best friend anyone could ever ask for. wow. she didn't mention Genesis directly at all, which was so respectful and considerate to everyone while sharing perspective. I wish I had watched this sooner! My first season was Las Vegas 🤦‍♂️

RIP Pedro!!!! The show tried and successfully brought people together from different places and backgrounds. I feel that some of the issues were that people were used to being in their own environment and circumstances and this show helped show how you can open your mind and change your opinion and the way you see things. I loved this show!!!!!

Far more authentic raw communication back then , far more obvious Ignorance and drastic cultural differences too but at least early Real World and reality tv was as real as It was ever gonna be. Today's society Is too fake and desensitized to ever have stuff like this work and be genuine again. 1992 - 2000 were my favorites.

That_Weird_Universe Sean also passed in 2013 according to Wikipedia he was HIV positive for 25 years and passed from a rare form of lung cancer which could have been related to HIV x

At 12:08 -- I forget the blonde girl's name, but I did watch that season years ago, and I remember that she was gay. Seeing the other girl explain to the child that she shouldn't hate gay people right in front of her was a powerful moment. When she started to tear up, I felt so bad for her.

I loved this show so much all the seasons but the most important person on this show was Pedro, I loved him for being brave and kind and loving and sweet and trying to educate and teach people about his desease, he was the first person in MTV history and possibly ever to say "I am hiv positive" and I really felt he was going to be one of the good ones and beat it and possibly stay with us but he didn't make it , he died in a time where there were no type of meds yet and sadly he didn't make it but he left one heck of an impact and foot print in this world, may he be resting in peace in a much better place , Love you Pedro! The sad thing is I remember Pedro had a friend from Miami who was often on the show like in the clip here at 6:12 his name was Alex, he too passed away from AIDS it was so sad.

OMG I forgot that I had the hugest crush on Danny from RWNO! He looks a lot like a football player that I had a flirtation with, in high school. Its so crazy to me, that I met my husband the following year! We'll have our 20 year anniversary in March! And we are still as crazy about each other, as we were when we met! 😊

That’s one thing I truly loved watching real world of the 90s and early 00s , it was social experiment that supported multiculturalism. I love seeing people of different races and walks of live connecting . We are often separated by our difference but we are just as easily United by our commonalities.

THE PUCK SPITTING INCIDENT: If I was the producer, I wouldn't fold. Puck would have been gone before it got to the point where EVERYONE else in the house realized he wasn't worthy of being there. And whoever said, "If puck goes we all go," I would have called their bluff and laughed in their faces. I would have told them that they're nobody special, and that we had 200-1 people on standby dying to take each one of their places. I would have kept the cameras rolling and used this for the show. I would record us bringing in new people to replace every Puck "Sheep" that wanted to follow the low-life out the door.

He means he believes that homosexual behavior like gay sex is a sin (to him anyway I don’t believe that it is) but that doesn’t mean that he hates gay people or believes that they aren’t entitled to basic respect I went to a catholic high school and that’s what they teach you. As long as you don’t deny gay people basic rights like humility and respect I don’t see a problem with his opinion.
