5570 subscribers now, me included ;) ! You make really beautiful videos, I want so much to live like that and at the same time, I struggle with the fear of what would I do for a living in the middle of the wilderness, leaving behind my profession here in the city, and it also makes me sad the idea of being away from my family, my mom... But the city, the lockdown, all the buildings and noise, it´s making less and less sense to stay like that... I hope to have more clarity about what to do, I trust the Holy Spirit to be leading my boyfriend and me to the right place. Blessings from Argentina, I´ll see you in your other videos!

I just lost my husband of 46 yrs to covid. These videos hit the spot. They make me laugh and cry. Thank you. MY MEMORIES are priceless and so are the 2 of you!

I agree.

@@basketballfan5763 In the past 5 years, we where kicked out of our rental home for no apparent reason, we where able to buy something in a pinch since my wife was pregnant. The only way we could afford anything was for me to work over time in a job I don't like. She liked the house, I didn't but at least she was happy. We got the keys, 4 days later my baby girl was born. Problem, she has ear problems so a lot of sleepless nights (my average is between 2 to 5 hours per night of interrupted sleep). I had to stop the education coarse I was in since I couldn't concentrate anymore, due to certain rules I now had a debt of 10K. After about 2 years, the ears of my little girl seemed to calm down and my baby boy was born. He had the same ear problems, but a bit more severe. Had certain allergies we had to discover and circumvent. Anyway another 2,5 year periode of nights lacking quality sleep and working harder to pay for the bills. We saved up enough to renovate our home, since most was 20 to 40 years old, planning to be finished last November with delay. However, one our neighbours started alot of legal problems/lawsuits, making sure we now had a barren home and have been living at my parents place with the whole family for 14 months now. The renovation has started, but we've had setback after setback also due to people using Covid as an excuse. For example, due to Covid apparently bricks get broken on arrival, doors change size and turn different ways, people saying they have finished the job even though they are only half way through, and so forth. I go to bed around midnight, still not being done with my work. Wake up from any sound during the night, mostly the kids making noise/talking in their sleep, and get up around 5 in the morning to start the new day again. At this moment, there is no actual me time. Hobbies are suspended due to Covid, I live with perpetual sleep deprivation, the only "me time" I have is when I sit on the toilet and watch some KZfaq for 5 minutes. So I now have a burn-out, a small depression, go to weekly psych meetings, still have to do the rest of the stuff and see no way out that I can afford anytime soon. It sounds bleak, but things will probably get better eventually, at least that's what people tell me.

It's about having a little bit of freedom that this life brings. Yes it is hard, it is not perfect. How about we all just want a simpler life with simpler problems. Sadly those problems are not always easier, mostly physically hard but say with just a little more human contact, the contact we would in our normal lives hate and resent as it is forced upon us by the hierarchy of our work and community. But just a tad of that would bring security to this style of living. A life truly lived I would say but is too far away for most of us. In the meantime you beautiful young souls continue to show us old buggers what we have missed by not being brave enough or just not having that opportunity. Big loves xxx

Many of us are dreaming the same dream as you--to go off grid, to return to nature, to drop out of the toxic culture we find ourselves drowning in. You and Christine are on the vanguard of a new wave of humanity willing to return to its roots and get off the ridiculous treadmill we've been told is our purpose and destiny. Hurray for you and much love from Maine in the US! We have lots of woods here as well, and I'm hatching a plot similar to yours. Thanks for the inspiration!

Here's my philosophy on how we discover that we are different than what we believe we are. I think as we grow and mature we change. I've always thought of myself as an extrovert...and so do most people who know me. But at 65 I have discovered that I'm now an extroverted introvert. Yes, that's a real thing. I love being around people, but I truly value my alone time. I prefer to be alone and then see friends on occasion. I love my family and friends and spending time with them. I like meeting new people too. But I can go a long time being alone and doing my own things. I miss living on land with chickens, ducks and a garden. Presently I live with my adult son in a 2 bedroom apartment...not by choice, but this is a necessity at this time of our lives.

@@larsvarg8502 Recently a friend of mine died. An acquaintance really. He never truly was wealthy because he never controlled his time. He was always working. Always with his clients, always a slave to his bills. Everyone says time is money. That is not true. Time is the goal. Time is the reward. Money is just a tool to get you more time. Time is what is precious. Time, to me, is the very definition of wealth.Time spent with parents, time spent with children. It’s in the tiny, consistent moments that great memories are made.Time is what needs to be valued and protected.

I recently think a lot about downsizing and simplifying my life as I too feel trapped in a cycle I don't wish to be in. Working, spending, playing certain roles, piling up debth... I stopped buying things I thought I need as a start and having two kids and a beautiful wife I try to focus more on the time we spend together. The responsibilities to my family keep me away from changing my way of life too drastically in a short period of time. But I intend to plant seeds here and there with more outdoor activities together and until anything changes for real I just enjoy watching your chanel and take it as an inspiration. Glad it‘s going so well! I think YT algorithms are very clever, people think they „find“ or „stumble on“ a channel like this when it‘s clear their „bubble“ mean they are going to be susceptible to suggestions - I assume I was a candidate because I watch several channels from Swedish and other countryside and simple living and sailing, and my husband also watches survival channels on the same wifi address so the algorithm figures (correctly!) I‘d enjoy this... But well done, we love it, so they were right lol

I am not sure how I stumbled upon your channel, maybe because of Jonna but I am so glad I did. I have been binge watching and am almost current and I love everything about them. I love how you stay true to you and show the real life. I can’t wait to see where your journey leads and I will sure be there to cheer you on. Greetings from Seattle

You're lucky to have learned you're an introvert so young. I'm 45 and just learning that about myself. I used to be confused when I didn't fit in. I beat myself up for it and felt like an oddity. I can go days with only seeing my husband and two children and I'm just fine with that. Being around most anyone else is, like you said, exhausting. I crave solitude, the opposite of my living current situation, in the middle of a miserable small town. We plan to move, hopefully in the next 3-5 years. Thank you for your inspiring videos. Watching this genre within KZfaq helps to keep my hope up.

Here we are again, I just love Fridays because this is the day that all the “One man and his dog” videos all pop up together within a few hours of each other. Yours has the bonus of the inclusion of a delightful young lady, and looking at the way you both lead your life in particular also from her perspective. This makes the videos so much more interesting. It will not long be before you have your first 50,000 subscribers, then there will be nothing holding you both back. I will be very interested how you are going to overcome your water problem, especially that we are now into autumn and the days grow shorter when every minute of daylight counts. With two, you are going to need a constant supply of water. Melting snow in winter for your water supply in winter is a chore. Are you going to capture water from your roof and build up a reserve? I can not wait until next Friday to discover what you have found as a solution. Looking forward to next Friday

@Loki Simpson Yes I have been looking at both Shawn James channels from day one, I will look later at the other one you recommended. I suspect you have not come across this link.kzfaq.info/love/K06e_lG4DKOSWAgusjlvRA The person that is responsible for this channel is also in the early stages and there is no spoken word as he is Japanese but he more than makes up for it in content and like our friends on this channel the photography is also great. Go and have a peep. If Kalle and Christine continue as they have just started , this time next year they will be a hard act to follow

Hey there! Your videos are so calming and inspiring. I really get a sense of being in the wild, whilst physically being in the agriculture environment. Thank you so much for making this content. The last chitchat part really touched me about communication. Something that really helped me in cultivating clear and loving communication with my relationships (friends, family, romantic, myself) was listening to the Non-violent communication podcast by Marshall Rosenberg. It really brought me in touch with my feelings and needs and I learned to trust that it’s safe to speak them out loud. So I can highly recommend :)

I have been barefoot nearly 100% of the time since I 'discovered' it over three years ago. They do adapt well! I've been on 20 mile hikes in the mountains, done all my homesteading work, stepped on hornets, push pins, sharp rocks (daily), sharp sticks and brambles on my cabin build site, cut trail, and attempted to get into the Portland (Oregon) Central Library- all barefooted. It is a stark contrast to the 44 years I kept my feet locked away in shoes... which now, for me, sounds like and absolute nightmare. Bravo Kalle, and bravo to the shoeless! :)
