I’m in high school. Currently going to be a Sophmore, and I am planning to do pre-med. Just looking at this, it gives me the drive to work harder to get where I want to be in the future. God I want to be where you are now

I sent this to my God-Daughter and her response to the last-minute scheduling was "you had more than 20 minutes notice? Nice!". She's 3rd year General surgery and Cardio specialty and, according to her, surgery is THE rotation where scheduling is insane. You can try and try to schedule things but "people tend to do stupid shit that means we gotta fix them AND get paid for it."

Also, and it sounds like you already are doing this: her advice is to keep an open mind. Surgery is VERY broad. She (My God-Daughter) knew she wanted to be a surgeon from a young age but had no idea about specialty - until she held a still-beating human heart in her hand for the first time. She said that was the moment she KNEW she wanted to be a cardio-thoracic surgeon. So general surgery may not be your thing but a specialty surgeon might. Either way, good luck man and it's great watching your evolution through these videos!

Shaun amazing video! I am commenting a little later than usual because I am currently abroad in Barcelona! It is awesome to see how far the channel has come since I started watching you before you started medical school. Great advice and I cant wait to see the next vlog/informative video.

Its nice to gain experience from clinicals, learn alot, apply theory to practice and get a feel of what the healthcare entails. All the best on your rotations, make the most of it👍 :)

That's amazing you've been busy with all these specialties, they all have so many pros and cons lol. I wouldn't even know what to choose lol. As a 3rd year student now do you still spend a lot of time at UNLV med school building?

He iam ilyass i have 18 years old i failed for a second year in high school and my dream is medicine, and now I intend to repeat the year to get the required rate, and I want your advice, should I repeat a year or not, because you are a doctor now

If you can’t imagine yourself doing anything else but being a doctor, then just repeat a year. Trust me, age is not a big deal when it comes to med school.
