There aren't enough "pure" python jobs. Python is a great 2nd or 3rd language.

This video is very good but the content especially at the beginning is confusing. You sounded like you wanted to recommend a better language than python. All what you criticized python for, apply to all other languages like you said with swift but the way you unpacked it, it was like python is really bad. Going forward you then sounded like you are encouraging people to add more skills to their python abilities which was then very correct. Generally knowing one thing in tech setup does not give one an upper hand. Finally, the message that one gets is to add more skills "especially if they watch the video to the end"

Obviously Python is just a programming language and an interpreter. That's far from enough to be productive. Python is to IT what naming a tomato is to maintaining a michelin restaurant. People try the easiest way towards big salaries. The truth is that it only grows ego, drives inflation and makes finding the real passionated about tech harder to find. But at the end the ones that work less and earn more, well deservedly, know from A to Z how a computer and networking works. This you learn after decades of dedication. But hey, try with your python and js wamnabe skills. You'll fool useless HHRR tbh.

There is something people need to understand. My lecturer used to say, "with a hammer you can kill a fly, but it is not the best tool, you can easily use a spray". That means, people need to know what to use to do what. As simple as python sounds and as capable as it can do anything, you need to know where to use it and were to un-python things. A good example at my workplace, the data manager was crazy about getting a big system for fetching data from different sources and generate live visuals that are fed per individual view role. The software engineer is a Java guru. He took around 2 years to fail, and a python guy go that running in less than a month. I personally had recommended powerbi but for some reasons they he did not agree. So finally whether python is silly or HR are fools, if you are running against targets, you will see that a silly language can save your back

Ummm... knowing a glue language is a supplement to general or specialized technology skills, noob. It's always been this way since before the days of PERL.
