there were too many jedi. when the prophecy was stated, (ie anakin was the chosen one destined to bring balance to the force) the jedi had essentially overrun the entire galaxy. balance is balance. too many jedi = an imbalance in the force. anakin was the chosen one who was supposed to bring balance to the force, and he did. just not the way the jedi in their blindness and apathy envisioned it so really, obi wan had nothing to complain about bc anakin didnt betray anyone in the bigger picture: he just fulfilled his destiny.

Dude this video made me feel more at ease with Darth Vader, opened up a whole new understanding for the character.

What if.... This happened? (A rebel base was set up on an ancient world once controlled by the Je'daii Order. Some surviving Jedi were here with a research team trying to find something, just anything that could possibly help them. They stumbled upon something that they thought was a portal that could look into the past or the future, but what it turned out to be was something that allowed those who used it to look into other universe when they started to notice some inconsistencies. They had found a way to pull small objects through and decided to pull someone through. The Jedi here decided to pull through who they considered to be heroes in their timeline from another. They found one timeline very similar, but also very different in many ways, but there were enough consistencies to locate their targets). [Meanwhile ...] (Count Dooku jumped from the balcony approaching Anakin and Obi-Wan). Palpatine: "Get help your no match for him he's a Sith Lord." Obi-Wan: "Chancellor Palpatine, Sith Lords are our specialty." Dooku: "Your swords please you wouldn't want to make a mess of things in front of the-" (There was a bright flash in front of Dooku and Palpatine, when they opened their eyes the Jedi had disappeared). [Meanwhile...] (The Jedi reappeared in the research site near the device that had brought them here and they fell unconscious. It seemed to be an unexpected side effect from the transporting of them here. The were taken to a medical facility they had set up close by and after a few hours they regained consciousness). Obi-Wan: "Uuugh... Where am I?..." (A human in what appeared to be a miltia uniformed showed up after he was informed they were coming around). Aran: "Hello master Kenobi. My name is Aran Kroan, and we need your help." Obi-Wan: "How did we get here? Where are we?" Aran: "You are on Jedha master Jedi." Obi-Wan: "Are you apart of the Republic?" Aran: "Not... Exactly. What's left of it." Anakin: "What do you mean? What do you want from us?" Aran: "To save our universes. You two may want to sit down for this." (Aran informed the two Jedi that they had been pulled from a world very similar to the one they are in now. The Jedi initially protested that they be sent back immediately, as they were on an important mission when they were pulled from their timeline. But after Aran explained more, they began to realize that their Jedi Order and their galaxy had been fooled. They found out that Palpatine was the Sith Lord they had been looking for, and he had used control chips in the clones to kill the Jedi when they least expected it. And of course there was the new apprentice that Palpatine had taken, a mysterious dark figure named Darth Vader who was said to have stormed the Jedi Temple and killed all the Jedi masters there. After a few moments Anakin and Obi-Wan agreed to help, and asked to be sent back first to warn the Jedi and the Republic in their universe first). Aran: "Forgive us, but... It's complicated. Bringing things in from another timeline is one thing. Sending them is another. Once we figure it out we'll send you back." (Anakin was not happy, and Obi-Wan wasn't amused. Regardless they agreed to help this Rebellion, so long as they got sent back. Aran then heard the comm on his wrist beep and he answered). Comm: "Sgt. Kroan, she is here." (Aran smirked). Aran: "Send her in." (After a few moments a female Togruta walked in. Obi-Wan and especially Anakin couldn't believe it). Ahsoka: "It's been a long time Skyguy." (She smiled happy to see Anakin alive. Even if it wasn't her Anakin). Ahsoka: "But it has been a lot longer for me." Anakin: "Snips?..."

I don't think Palpatine shared Vader's view on that one. He has made his disappointment pretty clear in the new canon comics. I like the idea of Vader realising how badass he became and having some self esteem though, as opposed to legends where he was crying in his suit and always depressed.

The Jedi interpreted the prophecy incorrectly. "Balance" doesn't mean "everything on one side." Anakin didn't bring "balance" to the Force by killing Palpatine, like so many love to parrot. He brought balance by killing (or letting Yoda die, semantics) all of the Jedi and all of the Sith. This left Luke (and Leia) to continue in the ways of the Force. It has always annoyed me that Obi-Wan said "You were the chosen one! It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them! Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!" Probably the only well-delivered line in the prequels, and it's just so wrong. Destroying the Sith and bringing balance to the Force cannot be done at the same time. Why am I surprised/annoyed though... the Jedi always got things wrong and thought that they were above reproach. They were so corrupt that they couldn't see a Sith Lord in their very presence. The Force willed the elimination of the Jedi for these transgressions.

As wise as the council was, they failed to understand what balance truly meant. The dark side is not a "perversion" it is simply one side of the same coin.

I believe whenever the jedi spoke of balance they meant having a society composed by balanced beings. We clearly would have to discuss now what each one of us thinks it means to be a balanced person (I'm not so crazy about the sith's idea of having everyone imprisoned by fear at all), but I personally believe the jedi's vision was beautiful. Silence was their meditation, observation, so that way they could watch and listen, from above, both the dark and the light as one single force in perfect balance, and not get attached to any of those, nor to their thoughts and emotions. So in a way, they had a way of becoming the light themselves, as they were constantly aware, imperturbable, yet not at all indifferent, but profoundly connected to everything, to their feelings and instinct. It's pure love and compassion in the end I believe, their strength was founded on compassion and on the mission of helping others find their own balance, or in other words, their own freedom in their hearts. Be the light and lighten up.

I see Anakin Skywalker as the chosen one that brings balance to the Force by fathering Luke Skywalker, the greatest Jedi of all time.

Balance is a person being taught in both sides of the force. The Eternal Empire did this, that's why they where fighting both Sith and Jedi and winning. They know both sides and how to balance each use of them. That is balance.

I agree with what you said about the prequel Jedi misunderstood what balance in the force was supposed to be. They were too disconnected from the living force it seemedto me. Their view of the force was as narrow as the Sith's view of it. Day and night, joy and sorrow...two sides of the same coin and they were destined in the to both lose.

Can you talk about why Vader’s eyes weren’t Sith red when he was unmasked by Luke?

Imagine: You're inhaling smoke and ash, You can't see anything, you're eyes burn,, you ignite you're lightsaber to see better, but it doesn't help, all you hear is screaming and blaster fire, you try to run but you have no clue where you're going, the screaming and blaster fire get closer and closer until you reach the center of the temple, 20 jedi fighting off what you thought were sworn allies, the clones taking out 5 jedi every 3 seconds, and in 10 seconds all the jedi you just saw, were dead, you run back, but you can't see, then you come back out, accepting the fight you must have, you fend them off, you beat 5/85 clones before one shot hits your chest, then another, then 2 more, then 8 more, then 36 more, then 100+ more after you're already dead.

I think Luke and Leia were able to balance the force, in the context that they were able to wield aspects of both sides of the force, more so than Anakin who became pure evil but his Son had the power to pull him back and Leia with pulling Ben Solo back to the light as well.

this sheds so much light on why Anakin would remain on the dark side after realizing Padme died and Palpatine had manipulated him...besides being too far gone to return to the light side, he had been stronger with the force than ever, and that was his only other goal he had to live for.
