The Nintendo ambassador program is functionally a method of control over creators and influencers who shape the conversations around Nintendo products and services. They don't want the wider public to ask questions like "why was Pikmin 3 just removed from the Wii U eshop right before the switch re-release?" or "What is emulation?" They realize influencers raise awareness of these things. Ultimately, Nintendo sees guys like Wulf and Beatemups as independent voices who threaten their ability to overcharge their customers.

Wood, get the mouthguard. I've worn one for 7 years. The dentist will make a special mold and it only bothered me the first week I wore it. Now I can't imagine sleeping without it.

This podcast is actually way better than I was expecting. You guys are freaking hilarious 🤣 You guys have some good synergy as well. I have been looking for a new podcast to listen to in the background when I'm out and about running errands and going to appointments, and you guys are it! Two of some of my favorite content creators doing on together is absolutely Perfect. Subbed for sure. Hopefully this takes off and you guys will stick with it. I noticed this video exploded compared to the sub count of the channel, and the other vids seem to be doing well. Keep up the awesome work guys!

This episode was absolutely awesome! Just wanted to say that honestly you guys don't HAVE to stay on topic all the time. The idea for me is to make an episode main topic, get around to talk about it, maybe have a couple side topics in case it's a little short, then accept tangents. That's the best part about podcasts, is the flow and energy from having the hosts (and guests) talking about whatever comes to mind. So don't worry if you trail off, so long as you get the episode's main idea across. Past that? You do you!

Very entertaining, watched on KZfaq, thought I'd have to break up the viewing of an hour, but ended up finishing in 1 go. Only note I'd have is a few times I had trouble hearing Wulf. Which was funny as Wood later on adjusted his own mic..

P.S., please DON’T do this podcast through Zoom. Do it live for as many times possible. Doing Zoom killed the Wulff Den podcast for me. The chemistry is much better in person.

I do 4x10s, so my shift goes a bit later than a normal 3rd shift, and then I sleep right after work. Either way, 1:00pm Eastern was right in the middle of my sleep cycle. Hence why I said, I'll catch this when I wake up.

The only other company I’ve seen do something as restrictive as Nintendo is LEGO- similar murky requirements, and people dropped for not adhering to that semi-kid friendly, squeaky clean brand friendliness. Great first ep y’all!

@@cheeeeezewizzz well Nintendo and videogames were synonymous in the 90s so whenever some kid shot his friend "after playing doom" the headlines were all Nintendo this and Nintendo that even if doom wasn't on Nintendo consoles (it was tbf). Either way Nintendo would be blamed so you can't blame them for being extra careful. The idea of videogames just being straight banned wasn't so ludicrous then in the days of video nasties etc. Their survival depended on cultivating that image. I'm not defending Nintendo, however. No-one was a bigger fan. I couldn't be more pissed off with them.

Also they don't own gamefreak or make pokemon so cant really be blamed for pokemon company/gamefreak shenanigans. A lot of people don't realise how little creative control they exert in that franchise. They barely get to touch it. They're just lucky its on their console.

I think this podcast is super important regarding Nintendo content. Just the honest genuine truth about the good, bad, and ugly of Nintendo by not fanboying over them as much as other content creators often do just so they can be ambassadors for Nintendo.

I don't believe there was any official contract as he didn't get paid for being apart of it, but they did take him off the ambassador program a long time ago for breaking some rule. He claimed he was going to quit making Nintendo videos after that, yet he continued to do so. Now he is claiming to be quiting them again. He is going to keep giving Nintendo free advertising even though he is no longer officially one of their ambassadors. The fanboy in him won't let him quit. Smh

@@SourStrawberrys You do sign an agreement to not do emulator or piracy/hack/mod content of Nintendo games. He did that, and while it isn't paid explicitly, it does have restrictions to get the free stuff they give ambassadors. A lot of the reason nintendo is so successful and has lasted as long as they have is because they are fiercely protective of their brand and their image

@@golfer435 He didn't lose any free stuff. He specifically said back in that video that they agree to still send him free games to play but he won't be officially one of their ambassadors. So he didn't lose the benefits but he was upset that he lost the title. Go back and watch that video if it is still up. No, Nintendo has lasted this long because they have popular games they refuse to put on other systems. It doesn't mean their games cannot or have not been emulated by fans. There has always been people by passing that.

Family Friendly works on youtube because an overwhelming majority of the KZfaq viewtime is from children. Twitch is PG-13+ you cant be on twitch if your under 13, its in the TOS. So its always funny being in Bahbs chat when Wood raids him. Im really excited about this podcast. Seeing the worlds collide is gonna be fun. PS. Nintendo dosnt understand the internet. I like hearing how bad they screw things up.

IIRC Arlo was also dropped from the ambassador program around the same time as Wood and no longer gets stuff from Nintendo. It's almost as if every content creator with more than x number of subscribers was dropped within in a very short time frame. But more importantly, hey this was fun. Nice job gentleman.

Which was especially odd as Arlo NEVER does anything that Nintendo possibly dislikes. He basically only does reviews and hype videos, never doing anything like emulator content. HES A FREAKIN PUPPET. Nintendo obviously didn't cut him for content reasons which leaves doubt as to whether Wood got cut for content reasons. I think they were just thinning the program of large creators as you said.

OJ became an ambassador for nintendo the same day Wood was dropped n hide it from everyone. Which pisses me off to no end. Remember OJ ranted he would never become an ambassador for reasons, the same week wood was dropped. Such a freaking tool! Wouldn't be surprised if OJ complained to Nintendo about wood and arlo

Wood wasn't dropped because he got big, by his own admission, he was dropped because he made content using an emulator to hack Breath of the Wild.

I unsubbed and couldn't even watch Wood's videos once he did the whole crying thing, begging for money to donate to charities all while his channel was making *BANK* and he was opening up PO Box for gifts like "OH Moi GAwd! Whoi deed yoi sind me this!?" $400 gifts from fans who don't have two nickels to rub together and his channel was making him at least $300k+/yr hahahah Also, mark my words, this channel name will get the C&D within a month. They're not stupid.
