When CR7 left Real Madrid, Barcelona with Messi still can’t come with Real Madrid. Don’t Benzema, Bale, and Asensio are extraordinary players. The problem of Barcelona is that Xavi left, Iniesta left, and Sergio Busquets became old. The whole Barcelona build around Messi, so only Suarez can successful. Because the system of Barcelona relied to much on Messi, it is very messy. When Messi left, it’s the end of Barcelona. However, Argentina is different story. In the past, Argentina was built around Messi and become very unsuccessful. The year when Argentina got champion, apart from the help of referees and FIFA, the goalkeeper defenders, midfielders, and forwards are strong on the team. Messi was just complementary to the team but he’s not the hardcore anymore. So Argentina would be still successful without Messi.

Barça was fine without Pep for almost 10 years, but without Messi? The very moment Messi started to be unable to win matches by himself, Barça started to decline (which was still enough to win la liga). Now without Messi they're just a "barely qualified for champions league" team.

Despite hype from Barca fans, Pedri is nowhere close the finished product as Jude Bellingham is. Meanwhile, the quality of La Masia graduates have been somewhat of an issue. Ansu Fati and Gavi have yet to display their full potential in Barca. Lamine Yamal is showing his potential, yet he is still young, and whether he could sustain this talent or end up as the second Ansu Fati (overhyped talent) is yet to be seen. Also, spending 45 million on a 34-year old Lewandowski is a questionable move, since he is past his prime and whose abilities outside of a top team in the Bayern-dominant Bundesliga is questioned (many believed he would've never been such a proficient goalscorer without Thomas Muller, Kimmich or Goretzka). His fall in form in Barca compared to Bayern is a proof of such. 3:30 (This point might not be too evident in Spain, but is somewhat apparent especially outside Europe) Usually, when you ask normal people (non-football or casual fans) on the street "What are the three largest clubs in the world?", the three most common answers would be Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona (3 clubs with the most IG followers), owing to their unprecedented success both locally and internationally in the past 25 to 30 years. Manchester United has since fallen off after Fergie left in 2013 and became a meme, but many non-football fans still think they're the strongest club in England. The more important question however, is "Which is the larger club, Real Madrid or Barcelona?" For most non-Spanish football fans, the answer is overwhelmingly Real Madrid. Real has more UCLs (14) than Barca (5), it has seen success more recently than Barca (2016,17, 18 Triple UCL) and have overall been the better performing of the two in the last 5 years. Therefore, neutral football fans tend to have a more favourable view towards Real compared to Barca, because they think it is the 'bigger club' (which in itself is a really subjective question).
