This makes me calm when I see a family living as minimalists and it works. People always say that it gets so cluttered when you have kids and everything is a mess and no one can get around it but it's also up to one self which is proof right here.

When we moved from a two bedroom apartment to a 2400 sq ft house, we had friends tell us that the house looked “stark”. Now, I am wanting to get back to that look again!! I love what you two have done. But, after 20 some years, it won’t be new, just not cluttered!!

Perfect! The rain watered your fertilizer in! I still think you need to stain that fence black! I found this very motivational! My husband has Stage 5 Parkinson's and we have ENOUGH STRESS! You seem 'Brave' to me to have nothing on your walls. My flat surfaces are clear but I have art on our walls. Watching your videos is making me care less and less about my wall decor. 🤔

Minimalism is different for everyone. I love love love the black, gold & white. I personally like to express my love of art and other interests. But hey each to their own. But I also love less clutter, unnecessary furniture, expectations & judgement. Not all of us want to live in a display home or live for others opinion. Tfs & take care 🤜🤛

You are so right!!!!! We get influenced to impulse buy. I have been so disciplined with what I buy, and let me tell you I have saved enough money to put a new floor, get a new kitchen installed. I no longer have different sets of everything. Just the necessary and quality!! You will have the neatest yard in your neighborhood by the way 🤗🤗🤗🤗

Thank you for sharing. I love hearing other people's minimalist journeys. When I moved from my parents home I started slowly decluttering things like old university notes and childhood memorabilia. One of my hardest things I decided to give away was a very sentimental vintage jewellery box which my mother had given me. It held a lot of sentimental value as my mum passed away when I was 12. It's been a few weeks since I gave it away and I do not miss it at all

The nice lawn is a big one for us, we’re still working on it. It’ll never be perfect but just keeping it watered and green is good enough for us right now. We invested in underground sprinklers and it’s priceless! Lol

As a minimalist, I must say that grass isn't good for the environment. But, I was thinking with all that yard, you guys could easily have a nice veggie and fruit garden in the backyard and you could even keep some grass if you wanted in the front yard. With the way you take care of your lawn, I'm sure you would take really good care of your food too (you seem like such a caring human). Just an idea to think about. I've recently discovered your channel and I love your form of minimalism. I've been binge watching your videos. Excellent content!

@@19xxmichelle I guess because it is a kind of monoculture and because you cut it (in wild nature grass also blooms) it does not provide any food or livable environment for bees and other little animals. :) but sure - it is better then just stones :) (sorry for my bad English).

@@l.d.3536 no I totally understand now, how did that fly over my head 😂but I'm guessing because USA has so many other houses that have flowers and food for bees, that cjons house with no flowers for bees wouldn't really make a huge impact 🤷🏽‍♀️im just looking at the bigger picture 😜

I wish that Imy home looked like yours. I know.... I am on the journey to get there. I listen to your videos all of the time.and I love them. I don't think that I will ever get to your level, but I am trying. Right now I live in a very small space without closets.... the vaccuum cleaner has to stand in a corner in the open concept entry way/living room. The kitchen is so small and stupidly designed that I don't have the proper places for the spices or dishes or pots and pans... someday I will live in a better designed space with more room. I am minimizing and decluttering daily. You make so much sense. I am listening.

My 500sq ft 1 br CONDO (paid off) is too much space! Don't use the bedroom at all, so, i realize i can downsize to a studio or a tiny home. Would want Outdoor space enough to keep chicken for eggs and reproduction.

Not telling you what you SHOULD do, but I have chickens and they take a lot of time and work. Food, water, cleaning the dishes and the run, chicken poop everywhere. They dig worse than any dog I ever had, lol. I give most of the eggs away. I cannot eat a half dozen eggs a day. They are in no way profitable, but they are funny to watch. Maybe your extra room could grow some veggies and herbs for you until you find your right space?
