I sincerely appreciate the efforts you all put into making this information concise and entertaining. Second, there is an error on the introductory timeline. While the Reconstruction Era dates 1863-1877, you've listed it as dating 1863-1867. The timeline graphic is correct, but the end year is typed incorrectly.

I always thought that if reconstruction never ended, America would have fully healed from the slavery era would have become a completely different country than it today. Perhaps after several decades of reforms and folks being used to seeing non whites in office or as business owners would have prevented the Civil rights movement from happening in a good way, because it may have never needed to exist. Think about a nation that is used to seeing black people as CEOs, professionals, politicians, this would have had cascading effects on other groups/immigrants into the US. Mexican and Chinese immigrants may have been treated much better in the later years because the average person wouldn't see race as a huge deal.

After 12 seconds there was a mistake in the timeline where they write RECONSTRUCTION ended in 1867 instead of 1877.

FIRSTLY THE US POPULATION DURING THE CIVIL WAR WAS OVER 30 MILLION! The confederacy was over 8,300,000.

I am also very dubious about the statistic of free people of color who owned slaves. Other analysis of this puts that number at around 5,000, if that.
