I met Tony Visconti last month (and he doesn't really sound so high-pitched and nasal). The neat thing about Bowie's speaking voice is how it managed to sound both posh and Cockney at once. High Cockney, Grammar School Cockney, I guess you'd call it (he obviously had decent state-funded schooling as a child, I presume). If his voice hadn't had such a nice timbre, though, it might not have sounded as lovely. And I hate how I had to write all of that in the past tense about him. 😢

It's good to know that if David Bowie ever dies (which is an 'if' and not a 'when') then Adam Buxton can just take over and continue the music.
