@@brianworkman9954 I cannot say that Amy was never a Christian. But it is clear that she has let the devil bully her and deceive her. I Jn. 5:18 says that some Christians let the devil touch them and some do not. Neither can sin. I think that, like Elvis and many other believers start making money and gaining fame before they are sound in the scriptures. Looking at Amy's visage beside Franklin's you can tell who is in God' s image. This teacher seems to be teaching to keep O.T. Law, which is only for the non convert, and was not for the non-Jew. When he says, like myriads of preachers, that the Christian can disobey God, he is erring from the faith.

The most loving thing Amy can do for her niece is tell her the truth of the Bible. Beckett Cook has a great testimony of coming out of a homosexual life style. And it was because Christians he meet told him the truth. He also said even when he was living a gay life, deep down he knew it wasn't right.

Becket cook says he is an ex-atheist. Isn't an ex-atheist another word for former atheist ? Atheists have made the comment there is no such thing as a former atheist. Well according to ex-atheists, there is. And I bet at one time when Becket cook was an atheist he said the same thing about ppl who said they were ex-atheists. Now Becket cook says he is an ex-atheist aka a former atheist. Hmm

@@paulthomasmiller1842 firstly, you don’t know me therefore, you really don’t know what is in my eye. Secondly, she is a public figure that has influence over those that follow her, including the youth, so it is not okay that she publicly and openly advocates what are clearly sinful matters. She makes excuses for what is gravely sinful and claims to be a Christian. It is a necessity to correct such unGodly errors in the same way (in this case, publicly) to try and prevent others from going on the wrong spiritual path. Woe to those who call evil good and good evil. Who put darkness for light and light for darkness. Who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Isaiah 5:20. Recognizing what is sinful and stating it as such, is not a wrongdoing. It’s what Christians are called to do. It’s called speaking the Truth.

@@debrapershing2046 You said "Gossiping mile long?" I said "Grant was a contemporary Gospel singer." Fact. "She had a few hits." Fact. "She crossed over to pop music in the early 1990's." Fact. There was a big write up in our local newspaper which quoted her as saying she wasn't singing Christian music anymore and she wasn't "preaching" anymore. Fact. She also said "I want to sing the music that I prefer from now on." Fact. That shows from pure logic if she ever was a Christian that she , at a minimum, was going backward in her commitment, not forward. Which is a dictionary definition of a backslider. Fact. That's truth a mile long and facts aplenty.

@@debrapershing2046 Thanks for the dissertation. The fact is, you are judging me. If judging is wrong (according to your standards) then you can't correct me or anyone else. I have known about her since around '77-'78 when she started. So about 45 years for me. Nothing you said refuted my factual statements. You have an emotional admiration for her not based on truth. Timely. I did not know about the Amy Grant/Franklin Graham situation but I just so happened to touch on a similar topic the last two weeks in my own church: Obedience to the law was not criticized by Christ or the Apostles, it was not obeying by faith and trying to establish their own righteousness by the works of the law, this was the sin. Pharisee's are marked by these three distinctives in my opinion: 1) Administrative Authority 2) Tradition is on par with the scripture 3) Merited Justification. That is Pharisee-ism and even extremely hardcore fundamentalists, though some may get very close, typically haven't met all the marks of the Pharisee. Although by that I am not defending those ones that do qualify as legalists, which is also not the benchmark of Christian obedience. A healthy Christian should be pursing personal holiness as the normal desire of their relationship with their Savior. Good and accurate message Michael. It is a topic modern 'Eva" needs to have clarified.

My heart hurts for Amy. Without a doubt there was an anointing of the Lord on her music when she was young. It's not there anymore & it hasn't been for a long time. It cannot come back until she repents. It's the same for any of us. Sin blocks our relationship with Him. She still wants to do music & I'm sure she'll still do ok for herself but it will never be the same. I think she knows this too. MW Smith wrote a song that I always thought was written for Amy "I Miss the Way" though in the videos it indicates he wrote it regarding a male mentor. But it speaks of a longing for someone who has "moved in other circles, to the beat of different drums" (lyrics) "And I see only glimpses of the one you used to be, the inspiration, that you were to me". He wrote this song at the same time Amy "moved away". I miss Amy!!

I have experience with extreme legalism and progressives. When I think of legalism, Pharisees per se I think of those who create rules and interpret scripture to justify their position. Raised in Southern Baptist churches, I’ve seen too many twist scripture to follow their own interpretation. For example, those that say all alcohol consumption is sin yet scripture describes drunkenness as sin, not drinking. These are the same people deny that Jesus turned water to wine and justify scripture “it wasn’t really wine but grape juice. Or those that deem women in pants is sin and never, ever to church. Then there is the opposite, the modern “every-thing-is-okay” progressives that accept and embrace all sin. They completely skip where Jesus said to the woman at the well, “go and sin no more.” Great message!

If you live in the South , it’s common to use tobacco on the way to church. But heaven help you if you are seen with a beer . On the West coast you might have a Cocktail with your after church lunch . If you use tobacco, you are considered to be back sliding. Legalism seems to be relative to the local culture.
@MsAllison

@@jonyoung6405 Common tobacco use in the south? No. This is a false stereotype at least in my experience. Some will however, address the “sinner” over a cocktail or beer but more these days are okay with it within reason. I am reminded of my brother in law, a small town country back woods preacher who views all forms of alcohol, tobacco, as sin. He is also the same person that said only the KJV is the true Bible. I once confronted him with a statement hoping to challenge his point of view, “don’t judge others because they sin differently than you.” He didn’t get it. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Tolerance is one virtue we need to practice. If Christians had tolerance there would not be the hate, killing of so many people through out time because of their religious beliefs. Tolerance is being able to understand that everyone is different and sees and understands God differently. We are not just robots needing to make replicas of ourselves. God knows our hearts! True love also stops someone from committing a crime or acting against God's law of morality. Allowing people to go against God's law means you don't love them. A father shows true love when he stops his child from committing a crime or other bad stuff that goes against morality. Now, celebrities who claim true love and at the same time, encourage people to go against God's law, that's not love. When you support an act of crime, you are indirectly committing the crime.

the Bible says to Love people not their sin. When we accept the sin of others we do not walk in the Spirit. As far as amy Grant is concerned She will stand before a Holy God one day. those who practice these sin will not inherit God's Kingdom

Jesus said "Sin no more". We are sinners by nature. We need to follow God and his word. Stop following the words of men and women, God's word is good and final. "Sin no more" God's word is sufficient. Amy Grant will not be my judge. Glory to God.

I almost didn't watch because I thought you may be 'redefining' love, as the world wishes to. I was more than pleasantly surprised that you explained the error in trying to sneak around the Word of Jesus. Amy should have realized the mistake in her decision as soon as the world (White House) ridiculously sang her praises. The confusion can always be dispelled when it arises: What does the Word of God say? Thank you, Pastor, for being steadfast.

The only authority is God and his word, The bible. If Amy Grant promoting this she doesnt know what God said. Obedience to God is commanded, not to celebrity singers or celebrity ministers. Read the Bible and you will know what God wants from you.

Oh my!! We need to pray for ourselves to be able to love like Jesus! It’s easy to criticize others and call them out for what we believe is wrong. But that isn’t loving our fellow man. Showing Jesus to them by our love is what will make them seek Him.

@@debrapershing2046 The real danger with not calling sin, sin, is there is no need for a savior because nothing is sin anymore. Absolutely love and pray for everybody, but supporting and celebrating a message of homosexuality or pedophilia or any kind of sexual activity out side of (1 woman & 1 man in the context of marriage) is not loving. It is not caring at all in the name of Christian love. No one -needs to shame or bash anybody for any sin but marching in support of LGBTQ+ is way over the line for anyone who is a Christian.

I’m not qualified to be the judge, but the Bible tells us that we will be known by the fruit we bear. Amy and many other contemporary Christian artists feel the same way she does ! We have google,so look up some of these singers! They sing terrific songs but is that what they really believe! Homosexuality is a Sin period! They’re plenty of sins but Amy doesn’t believe being queer is one of them!

If the story about Amy Grant is true. She's wrong; needs to be admonished and needs serious prayer. 😮 but what we hear in the Christian media is often as misleading as the secular media. Franklin Graham is no Pharisee. MikeInMinnesota

I guess she completely skipped over that part in the bible about what Jesus said affirming marriage, "He who created them from the beginning made them MALE and FEMALE and the two shall become one flesh, so they are no longer two but one flesh; therefore, what God has joined together, let no man separate. Matthew 19:4-6 Peace and Blessings to you all.

Amy Grant lost me when she left her husband and family to marry Vince Gill. I think he did the same but am not certain. So, love isn't attraction but sacrifice and dying to self for the sake of the beloved. That's what Jesus did and his followers are called to do the same. When one lies to the self, it opens the door to rationalizing wrong thinking. Any effort to correct in love the error of the lie is often met with, "Judge not." The example of Jesus forgiving the prostitute is pointed out as forgiveness for sexual sin. But those who choose to emphasize Jesus' love and forgiveness totally ignore his admonition, "Go, and sin no more." As for gay unions, a priest I know once commented, "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve." Franklin Graham is a brave man in the war against evil. BTW, KZfaq, Why no numbers of likes???
