From a player with 4600 hours in the game, this is a very good summary of the current gripes we all have with the game. For any new player watching this video, know that this is a pervasive perspective among the player base. Also, definitely consider what he is saying about the new player experience because many new players are having a lot of fun with the game at a slower, more individual pace that is not normal to MMO genre - it's usually b-line to end game and grind, but New World can be played differently. Many players enjoy the story, gathering, crafting, etc, like a mixed mode RPG. Aside from that, I think you summed up quite a bit of grievances about the game, TrickTrick. I think the best summary is that this game absolutely does not respect the time of the players and it feels like they do not listen to us by how long it takes for them to acknowledge and fix something. They introduce casual concepts for introductory periods and then annihilate them with bugs, meta shifts, rng grinds like the artifact drop rate you have mentioned. None of the content is terribly rewarding, and the core game play loops are so bad right now. I would say that mutators are in a very bad state currently and that m1-m10 was more enjoyable than this, but mostly because m3 has become so difficult and yet so worthless to do. There is a key point to make about "challenging and rewarding content" vs just higher health bars, one shot mechanics, high resistances, and incredibly poorly designed mutation modifiers. And it goes beyond mutators too. There is a lot of stuff on the surface but its substance is sorely lacking right now. The game desperately needs a developmental / perspective shift on how they approach servicing and developing the game. If they do not engage in better communications, become more responsive for bug fixes, respect player time, design content that isn't exclusive, and seriously consider player feedback, there will not be much left after console release. It feels all too much like a final cash grab before shutting the lights off for good, but we will have to see.

first 2 years of new world when it got released i got 5k hours... and every update felt like they never listened to the OG players.. i just really hope there is a good re-launch, where our voices will be heard aswell!

Curious to know: you barely mentioned wars in your video: is that because you believe they have no future, that they don't matter (I believe AGS commented recently that only 2% of players bother with wars) or that they will get some love in maybe a year from now? Territory control needs a huge re-work (for example) for it be competitive and fair.

Guys should i wait till friday before i get into the game ? in case they announce fresh servers or something similar ? i played at launch till like lvl 20-30, so i can pretty much say i am new to the game

One thing I missed since the first launch of the game was the leveling experience in a group with my friends...The game makes you level up solo by everyone making it own quests. I miss a group experience in the leveling up part that makes the game more enjoyable to play with friends, since people can't be online everyday at the same time. My suggestion is to think of shared experience or events in the maps (gathering together, mobing...) and stuff like that so that I don't need to reach lvl 60 for the game to become more "social" with the dungeons and pvp only. What is your thoughts on that?

I really really want to have hope for this game but I feel like wet laundry and I’ve been rang out, an I’m just left in that Crusty ass dry state. tired of waiting and knowing that even if the announcement is amazing we won’t be able to play it till OCT the earliest. That’s 4 whole months of my waiting and I’m just at my limit and I’ve held on longer then most and again even if S7 will be amazing how many will survive the torture of waiting 4 months for it.

Having played FF14, WoW and GW2 from the perspective of a 1k hours new player NW has a great unique combat system and graphic style, it simply needs more replayability, bugfixes and most importantly needs to show that they are adressing the issues step by step. As Trick pointed out the current state is not good, but much better than compared to the initial release, they need to keep up those improvements and we are gucci.

No one did the end game dungeons at release because of the tuning orbs you needed and the fact that you could grind elite mobs in strongholds to grind watermark at that point, which was crazy to see that they had two end game dungeons and no one on my server was running them lol. I think there were some bugs on either the chest increasing watermark or drops increasing watermarks, and also genesis bug where some players could respawn a boss over and over again to increase watermark. I remember priest runs in myrkgard and grinding those forever while keeping an excel file to keep track of my watermark levels.

good video i think its importaint for the main content creators to talk about the issues with the game so hopefully the devs can fix them.

How does anybody trust these devs to deliver anything thats even remotely matching the expectations that they created by not releasing any substantial content for 7+ months after their "expansion"? We're talking about the same devs that weren't able to release a single clean update without major issues in over 2 years. Realistically they're gonna show a trailer, people get mildly hyped, they release a half decent, but incredibly buggy & unfinished update and then follow it up with absolutely nothing for over half a year again like they did with Brimstone and with the Elysian Wilds. The rework that this game needs to be what it should've been all along is simply an impossible task for this dev team and that's the unfortunate reality looking at their track record.

For a new player, NW is a really good and beautiful game/mmo to hang out in. So much to do! I believe this year was the right time to start playing NW.

Man I had many years to play a game this much. Last time was with Dota 2 10 years ago. And now I don't know when i will love a game that much again. I hope the game will keep up.

from a pvp perspective, we need official competitions. im not saying it should become a e-sport, but something with official coverage, like 3v3 competitions, even 5v5 (cuz i think it will be better). i mean, something that the pvp community would brag and envy for. i watch a lot of unnoficial competitions organized by streamers and guild leaders and those are so fun!

If AGS finally can fix the content that we already have AND the content that we already know it's coming isn't broken AF, the game would be in a VERY good state. (and we should get some extra thing that we don't know about yet). But the major problem with AGS is get something not broken as hell and have to wait 6 months to a year for fixe :/ I really hope we get some decent content/fixes in the near future and, something that could make worth it, pretty much the sacrifice of 2024 (in S5 they basically abandoned live servers in the worst state in a very long time without even revert the new combat code to the old version) 🤞 btw, great video! 📈

I agree with all of this Trick, you've really hit the nail on the head with this vid. It's such a shame that the devs seem to think they know better than long term players like yourself and other vets. AGS ought to have a forum of respected/veteran players who consult on the development of the game where they actually take on board the critique and ideas. Trying to convince us that they play their own game and that they, as a result, know best, just ain't cutting it. I, like you, have loved my time playing this game in it's heyday and have over 7k hrs myself. It's such a shame that they allowed things to get so terribly bad for the endgame.

When I got to 300 hours of OPR in and still never got the artifact I wanted was why I quit the game. Not to mention BiS for bruiser was an axe that was from season content and unavailable now.

i agree that there is content to do in the game but not for the garbage reward that is in the game right now and wow hats of for making this video Trick. i really hope they have a good "roadmap" to give us i a week or so.

After 7500+ hours of New World, shot calling sand worm raids for 1 month, fighting wars, and running daily mutations I had to call it quits. Ultimately the game's war system creates a toxic community and will eventually destroy its own population since end game content is about chasing away other players and monetizing your passive coin income from owning territory. The coin gained from owning territory is grossly disproportioned to other activities. 12 hours of casual farming you can earn about 10k vs 30 minutes of shot calling a war grants 1-2 million coin a week passively and there is no system forcing the player to pay their company or war players. This leads to massive company monopolies per server and their leaders are incentivized to gatekeep wars to maximize real life profit from selling coin.

Crossplay with cross progression like Destiny will make this game an absolute beast.I own consoles too so would be great if i can play this game almost anywhere. Weeks ago i finished the MSQ to feel the experience of the completion of the story and let me tell you something,this is the game we should have gotten 3 years ago. And like you said,players are at fault partially of no new players engaging the negativity in excess on the Global or forums is absolute out of control because at the end,its just a game we can always move on

One of the biggest things negatively affecting the game in S5 was returning players experiencing the MSQ bugs. It didn’t happen to new players. Just returning players that happened to be in a unique spot, which led to countless hard stops and frustration. To eliminate this from happening, I could legitimately see AGS wiping the board and relaunching the game from scratch. And I think they should. Yeah, a lot of veterans would be pissed, but they’re already impossible to please anyways. The people that really love the game will make new characters and progress through the game once again. AGS. HIT THE RESET BUTTON. Bring in a new wave of players and start the relaunch on a much more positive note. Otherwise, you’ll start seeing all these returning players blowing up social media with all their MSQ bugs and the game will go right back to the overwhelming negative stigma that already surrounds the game

Upgrading the artifacts was very costly too. Then having your skills or items nerfed was very rough. This happened multiple times and the amount of wasted time was very frustrating. I don't mind meta changing but nerfs killed it for me.

interesting video to watch post summer games fest... im a player with 1k hrs but quit about 6 months ago, tbh also lowkey hopeful about the future of the game even with all the current controversy, game is a solid foundation but the summer games fest pr did not do the announcement justice, from veteran pov (as it was clearly catered to new players) ps: having to wait for october after already having no good endgame updates other than like you discussed the 1 dungeon or new set of artifacts released every season is unfortunate...

i loved the game so much for the first 5 months but tbh i dont know if i would even come back if they relaunched (even if they fixed / improved on everything) the pvp system was amazing but after 5 months i felt like it got kinda boring and sure can always improve on aim and reactions but it felt pretty stale.. also came back 2 times after brimgstone release and again a bit later for 1 month each and it just gets rly rly boring.. skill cap doesnt feel all that high but idk maybe im just bitter or smth

Very reasonable takes on the game but I’ll never be able to get over the fact that devs straight up lied to the entire playerbase multiple times.

Great vid, dude! Should mention the reporting system too. I stopped playing during the rapid fire bow exploit because I use Rapid Shot and was getting reported by people who couldn't tell the difference. Knowing I'd lose everything I've achieved for the last 3 years, just for playing the game, has me too paranoid to even touch it now.

New World needs an expansion in addition to a relaunch, like an actual expansion that introduces totally new weapons, new zones (multiple), expeditions and maybe another large group raid like Sandworm. I jumped over to ESO for now but I'm keeping close watch til this June announcement, if it's as big of a bust as I think it might be I'm totally done.

I never got why artefacts arent like weapon levelling, just use it to continue to unlock. Acquiring it should be a simple quest (pve) or throguh the pvp track guaranteed every 5 levels

New world was build in the beggining in the mind that people are gonna build settlement and craft gear and then fight eachother and destroy eachother settlement. They switch mid ways to become a mmorpg. They didn't know how to do that. They wanted a medieval rust.

Here's hoping that the news in June is that they're bringing in Yoshi P to completely overhaul the game. I want New World to succeed, there truly are no game like it and AGS is sitting on a gold mine. So I do not understand moves like the recent troll video. Multiple high ranking people had to approve of that before it could be uploaded.

The 2 main factors that made me go away were, how generic the game looks, i felt no creativity, the "copy paste" elements like buildings, boulders/mountains, terrains, it felt they were rushing through to getting it done and put the passion and effort aside. The other reason was when they screwed up the sprint animation with the actual sprint speed, it didn't matched and that was a big turn off to me. And of course the dupes, the exploits, the hacks and everything what went wrong with the game didn't help either.

Bruh 2 weeks 10 hrs a day on pvp track for serenity and track 103 and still nothing also I work a 9-5 so all I know is pain

As for Artifacts, the PvP track ones are insanely annoying because you're not farming for a drop chance. The PvE however... are way to easy to get. Its an MMO, and MMO's are supposed to be a grind. There should always be that super rare loot that its hard to get, because getting it is such a rush. A 20% drop with increasing odds and a petty system on top of that is basically handing it over. One of the reasons people aren't farming for Artifacts is simply because most people have it. The new Artifacts like Sin and venom?? I got all of them at 2nd runs each. I was done with the Artifacts in about 3 hours. That's a ridiculously stupid design

Dont forget the new players dont have to worry about how much weight there carrying bc of azoth cost when fast traveling, or going from town to town walking bc of weight to see what other trade post items were for sale . .. maybe carry somthing they didnt have buy low sell high in another town 😅

in 2021 i quit the game before max level beacuse my PC was too weak for it. In 2023 i came back and getting 60, then 65 lvl was extremly nice for me. I got max lvl with main quest for 20 level because there was so much to do. I felt in love with the game and did 500h in first 2 months wihich is around 8h per day everyday! After 700h I started feeling routine because most of my things and gear were maxed out and started to play only to get all furniture prints and do some PvP. I think ~700h of pure joy of playing is a lot for a mmorpg. That is my most playable mmorpg ever and im exited about "game changing information" they will tell 07.06.24

Why AGS dont allow private servers in New World . Im pretty sure if they allow comunity to create few servers it will improve longetivity in game way way more.. there is like milion games that are saved by modding and private servers..its proved to work

I'm all for a relaunch of NW. 4K + hours and millions of coin. I rather everyone has a fresh start. I feel like a lot of people are not giving NW a chance because they feel behind. But NW is better than what it was and it's absolutely a blast to play with people.

AGS needs to introduce language patches for non-English speaking players around the world. Many Asian countries such as Korea and Japan have shown interest in New World, but players either feel uncomfortable due to language barriers and refrain from trying the game, or they attempt to play but leave midway due to difficulty in communicating with other players within the game, resulting in a language barrier.
