Ferris Bueller's Day off is one of those movies that are near and dear to me, but which at the same time never succeed in landing among my top picks for recommendations or to put on if all I want is a good time.
It has become relegated to take up a firm spot in my private collection, but a spot which it rarely leaves.
And why is that? That is what I set out to find out.
How could a movie that I consider a timeless classic be a movie I am reluctant to put on?
What I came to realize went beyond my initial imagination.
It is a very unsual movie, or rather, it is as if several fairly unusual movies melted into one film. Not so much resulting in a mess, but in a movie that is tonally and dramaturgically all over the place.
Of course, I am just sharing my meaningless opinions about these films, so if you like one or more of the movies I hate on, or hate one of the ones I like, feel free to express your opinion to your friends. Or, if you really can’t help it, write how wrong I am in the comments.
