I admire your knowledge and in the same time I'm admiring the deeply friendly way you are inviting each one of us in a new initiative voyage in art. You're deeply living each word you're saying, you're putting all your heart and is impossible to resist you. Thanks God( of ART) for that. Grateful, Constantin from Bucharest, Romania.

Wonderful! Waldermar, I'd love to see what you'd do with the evocative Bible stories carved in stone in 915, on the facade of Holy Cross Church on Akdamar Island in Lake Van, Turkey, by an unknown Armenian master. He had a sense of humor. There's nothing like them anywhere. If anything like them ever existed, it's been destroyed, but Holy Cross is preserved.

A very original & enjoyable approach to what was at the roots of Renaissance art & culture. Of course, it left lots of questions and theses unanswered, but if you came here to probe and disprove, rather than to enjoy, you're clearly in the wrong place. I still wonder about Botticelli who apparently was under Savonarola's spell of iconoclasm [literally, of course], but managed to save unharmed all his mythological and secular frescoes and large paintings from the flaming fires. Thanks!

Excellent. The terracotta's by dell Arca and Torrigiano are awe inspiring. Although I am a huge fan of Michelangelo, his sculptures have always appeared awkward; his David's hand is not proportionate and his women all look like men with breasts. Dell Arca's women are women and heart wrenching at that. Torrigiano's pique of temper didn't warrant a life time of exile and by all accounts Michelangelo provoked the attacked. Thank you so much for this posting, I've learned so much.
