The request this time was for a blue phoenix ceiling painting.
I made multiple prototypes and held repeated meetings to refine the design to match the client's image.
Once the finalized design is fixed, work begins.
The boards to be installed on the ceiling were brought into the workshop, and the painting process began.
The ceiling boards in this project were very large and just barely fit into the workshop.
The first step is to apply the base coat.
If the paint dries unevenly, the finish will not be beautiful.
Instead of brushes, we use a cloth to apply the paint all at once.
Draw a rough sketch.
Phoenixes are legendary creatures from ancient China.
Their vivid colors and graceful appearance have fascinated people, and over time they have been incorporated into culture in various ways, from a symbol of imperial authority to a symbol of prosperity and rebirth.
Mixed white paint with water and painted in shades.
The surface of the board was rough, so the brush did not glide smoothly and it took longer than expected.
The paint absorbs quickly, so the work is carried out by repeatedly moistening it with water to avoid unevenness.
The final step is to add the phoenix's eyes to complete the work.
Phoenixes have fascinated people since ancient times.
