I miss him. Say what you want about him and yes he had a drug problem, but he was always open and honest with it. He never lied or kept it from us, he told the truth. He was a good person .

Mr. Piana...I know you've recently passed on, but I'm humbly compelled and honored to write somethin' here, if I may. .. I'm 54 years old now but, from my teens (1970's) up until my early 40's, I was obsessed with always workin' out. Like many, it was a childhood bully thing that happened a couple times too many to this skinny kid that started it all for me. I started with those cement 'weights', ya know, the ones that were covered with colored plastic? Well, anyhow, the older I got, I didn't seem to age much (I attribute that to my fitness, etc). For many of my last years of lifting and running, that was the motivation within me. I was no longer hungry for it all. I had begun feeling burned out. But, it was that emotional battle that I just couldn't take. I gave up. I hate to admit that, but, it's the truth. Now, I dunno if it ever happened to you (I'm new here), but I couldn't fight the burned out feelings I had for it all. I let go. I let my healthy eating habits go, and, for the last 12 years or so....until a few months back (literally), I got sick and ...as you'd probably say...sick and 'Fuckin' tired of being sick and 'Fuckin' tired... of being fat. Knowing how I used to be most of my life, has followed me, thus haunted me for all these past many years. Although I'd make excuses for myself...I'm in my mid 40's, late 40's, I"m 50, I'm in my early 50's...blah 'fuckin'' blah. ...would be my bullshit excuse to keep from gettin' back to it. It's only really, that the older I've become...I realize that I need my fitness now, more than I ever did. So, like I wrote above, a few months back, I said 'fuck it'...to not being able to bend over and tie my shoes. 'Fuck it' ...that I"m 54...so 'fuckin' what? My lack of being able to control the amount of shit I've been shoving down my neck had nuthin' to do with my age. And, for these many years, it (living unhealthy) had taken it's toll on me and got me 60 'fuckin'' pounds overweight. So, what did I do? I stopped eating the shit. Over night. I started walking. I started riding my 22 year old Cannondale bike, again. I swear, the first time I got on that old bike and had enough energy to peddle it up to speed with the wind in my face..brought some youth back. I'm down to 226 pounds today, trying to see if I can get back to my low 200's...but, I figured I'm gonna need some 'new' nutritional/workout routine to aid me.... Then what did I do...I started searchin' KZfaq, for the latest greatest health/workout info. I figured, maybe shit's changed since I was into all the workin' out. That's when I'd seen you a few times in some pics. Seen many other guys, as well. I'd click on this vid, on that vid. You, as well as many others' pics and vids I'd scroll by. ....until one day I logged on to do the usual weight loss info of the day perusal and read EVERYWHERE...you, Rich Piana...died. It struck me then, you must have been somebody...so I thought I'd look around and watch some videos of people who've known you, people who've seen you, people who've interviewed you, people who've never met you but had some opinion of you...and, as of tonight, I watched a video of your gal, bearing out her sorrow to everyone, describing the kind of man you were, extremely difficult to watch.....So, finally...I thought I'd click on this video of you, by you, on YOUR channel (well, I think this is your channel)...the 'Resurrection' part got me to click... I'm not halfway done with this video yet...and I'm thinking...Holy Shit...yeah, you're gonna be missed...I can already tell that you were mentally as massive as you were physically, and that you've left an equally massive hole in your ('fuck it'...our...) weightlifting community, as well as a devastating blow to your family and friends. Mr. Piana, I"m hopin' you won't mind what I've written here...I look forward to watching everything you've left here, and learning from it all...may you Rest In Peace.

I was walking through the 5% wonderland one day. I wanted to pass the bridge that goes over the BCAA river, when (at 12:33 ) a buff bridge troll appeared. He said if I want to pass I should answer him a question correctly. I agreed. He then snorred and asked "What is the perfect dick to ball ratio?" He thought I wouldn´t know, but I just said: "Easy. 5 to 1." He was shocked and screamed in rage: "NO! Why would you know that?! You still can´t pass. In fact, I´m going to suck all the oil out of your arms." I needed to act quick, so I took out a fresh syringe, filled with some a quality growth hormones. The trolls eyes got big. I waved the syringe a couple of times and threw it in the river. The troll jumped after it and with a big splash he landed in the BCAA water. I ran across the bridge and turned to look back a last time. The troll was drowning due to his underdeveloped leg muscles.

Such a shame to see rich talking about losing mass for health reasons. If only it was sooner he would still be with us. I'm so saddened by this. I feel like I knew him all my life . Rest in peace mate

I always learn something about nutrition and how the human body is affected from these videos, helps to fill in the empty spots in who I am. like a case study, but no confusion. this guy is no mere lummox, I wouldn't hesitate to say he's likely smarter than me. feel like there's lots to absorb here. bodybuilder =/= dumb

This guy is really amazing. On one hand, he is a great businessman and successful bodybuilder. On the other, they way he treats his body in general is certainly not the best for it. I would be really, really surprised if we will see him getting old.
