It's been a little while since McLaren have been a top team in F1, but after the British Grand Prix it's starting to seem like they could be back to the front once again! So, is it just a fluke or should Red Bull be worried?

4:08, oscar was actually missing a front wing upgrade that they brought last second, which he will get in hungary along with the final bits of the package for both

The cars weren't the same in silverstone. Lando had a different front and rear wing

@@JohnWarren pretty sure it was the plan for them to be the same. Some reports I heard said it was just the rear wing that was different but they also said on broadcast I few times it was both

Essentially the same cars but lando just chose a lower downforce setup to be able to overtake on sunday

@@Holoflux nah lando had a new front wing at least not completely sure rear wing was different setup or different design.

It's crazy how they gained more points in Silverstone alone compared to their entire 2023 season leading up that weekend and in the process were able to leapfrog Alpine in the standings. Hopefully this really is a new good phase for Mclaren and that they can build on this better in 2024. Piastri and Norris will finally be able to score more points and even an odd podium (which I do hope happens for Piastri this year) or race win (Both of them are still waiting for their turn at this) here or there. One thing that could also play to Mclaren is how unpredictable the podium mix and the overall order of the cars were ever since Miami. Verstappen may have won since Miami but 6 different people flocked to P2 and 5 different people were on P3 since that race. So at this stage where Mercedes, Ferrari, and Aston seem to be struggling one way or another in some tracks over others, Mclaren can pull off some surprise big points finishes if things go right for them.

Nice Video mate :) Hyped to see McLaren back, also tbf I think Piastri was missing a couple of things from the new upgrade which he should get with the new bits next week :) will be ace to see what they can do in Hungary!

Formula 1 is a better sport when McLaren is competitive. Same for Williams. I never cared for McLaren because they were always a rival when I started watching, but I am thrilled to see them back on the podium.

If they can manage to get the car to fight in the middle of the top 10 in Hungary, I'd say they have a decent car for the rest of the season. Personally can't wait for Monza this year.

If Nor could improve his drive in the first 3 conners of the race and some luck, it would be golden. Honestly the 1st lap is his weakest point, his mostly go backwards after the start.

McLaren can’t afford to have a bad car. They will lose both drivers eventually if that’s the case. I’m glad the team has taken a step in the right direction.

As a fan of racing and not of particular teams and drivers (although I've got favorites and not so favorites of course) I am happy to have McLaren back after 10 years in the mid-field. And that in their original color, orange! I always liked Lando because he's such a nice guy and Oscar seems to be that too. A great driver-pairing! Ignoring Max (because he's the too strong at the moment) the races are quite entertaining.

Something to keep in mind is that they are still weak in terms of tyre wear and Mercedes the team they will be fighting in the next few races had tyre wear better than the Red bull and also let's not forget McLaren has so far brother 27 upgrades while a team like Merc have only had 16 which is crucial because Mercedes will be bringing major upgrades to Hungary and Spa which will surely mean they are ahead. But it's looking good for McLaren because Aston Martin and Ferrari both have had so many upgrades especially Aston which has had 28 updates and now are behind top 4. (The updated data is from the FIA upgrades document) exciting times ahead. It could very well be a 2019 type of season where Merc dominated and we had a great second half although 8 out of 5 wins in the start of the season was thanks to Ferrari being Ferrari
