It is Pazuzu but like the 'real' one, this game isn't Exorcist related like a few people (myself included) thought it might be.

Interestingly, Pazuzu was a genuinely worshipped Mesopotamian demon who was actually depicted with a snake phallus. Ironically, he was frequently invoked for protection against evil in ancient Mesopotamia.

I like that Tom said he thought he was meant to betray. You were also meant to hit the button prompts Tom, I imagine that would've had a pretty significant impact of the game too!

I know it's eventually going to snap to modern day and we'll have a bunch of teenagers getting spooked out, like the other games, but I gotta say I really like ancient Mesopotamia as a setting. I would not mind at all if these guys were just our characters going forward.

I don't think it's been posted to youtube if you were looking for it here, I had a link but it deleted my comment so you'll just have to look yourself. I thought it would be on Lydia's Twitch as well as the co-op has different scenes happening at the same time but it seems it's not there for whatever reason.

Great to see the ancient world that isn't just Egyptian for once. Not too familiar with the period but they looked to be some kind of Mesopotamian culture of sort. Edit: oh they were Akkadian, literally said so in the video XD

Part of the reason I think characters faces go weird is if you play two-player some of those moments would have choices available and the character pulls faces a bit as you decide. It's really interesting to compare with a two player game like Ravs and Lyds did, there's longer and more scenes, better characterisation and more possibilities (though each person only controls their part)

I can say, after trying it last week, that running night orienteering in a dark forest with a headlamp as your only source of light while listening to the soundtrack for this game makes for a veeery interesting experience :-D

Tom! Very excited to see simon back on the channel, and I have a recommendation for the two of you! Theres a game on steam called "No One Lives Under the Lighthouse" which is right up your and simon's alley. Its a slowburn horror game about maintaining a lighthouse alone on an island. While there are some similarities to the movie The Lighthouse, I think it goes a long way in differentiating itself from the movie, and even more impressively, it was only made by a team of 3 people; a designer, a developer, and a sound engineer.

It's not just similarities. I watched another channel (I forget which one) play it, and it has at least one direct reference, if you look at one of the pictures in the lighthouse you hear Willem Dafoe's voice say one of the famous lines from the movie (I believe it's the "Why'd ye spill yer beans" one, but I may be wrong). I don't think that was edited in, because the KZfaqr I was watching actually reacted to it.

The character animations are so strange, it's like col king has down's syndrome and the expressions change from shot to shot like a badly filmed drama. Still, it's entertaining enough and the lighting and textures are pretty nice!

The first locks are believed to have been used in ancient Egypt in 4000 B.C. Attached to heavy doors, these locks had a simple mechanism by which pins of various lengths would fall into slots once it was engaged. A wooden key had to be used to lift the pins out of the slots and allow the door to move.

To be fair it felt earned and kind of cool in Man of Medan, Little Hope though was weird and cheap yeah - I doubt they'd do it a third time in a row too. I seem to remember hearing something a while ago about the creatures being real in this one but I guess we will see.

I hope they spend a bit more time on the next ones if there are any, because the last few games have been increasingly more shonky in terms of animation and story. The character models are somehow WORSE than they were in Until Dawn as well.

I just watched Lydia and Ravs play through this game and I must say this is definitely the best game in the Dark Pictures Anthology. I don't think it's as punishing as the previous games, but it does have a lot better plot, that is very different from the previous ones.
