There's a controversial, evil looking, scrap metal, baby statue in my city *Bradford* called *Baby of the North.* I like it as at least it looks like something, unlike some of the other modern art statues/sculptures in the city which look like nothing. For example there's... One which is basically just *a large, twisted, metal ruler* and is titled *Questor.* One which consists of *9 panels of glass* and is titled *Camera Lucida.* One which is basically *a large stone egg on its side, with a dint in the top.* One which is basically *some carved stones thrown on top of each other.* Two random twisted cones, with wire looking things on top, made out of *crazy paving, and old railway tracks,* which is titled *Fibres.* We also have a random statues of things like a *Armchair and a Grandfather Clock* made of stone titled *Grandad's Clock and Chair,* a *Leaf* made of metal titled *Homage to Delius,* a *Needle* made of metal titled *Connecting The City,* and a *Lightbulb* made of metal and concrete titled *Buried Light Bulb.*

@@ezekielx7536 There most likely is some, but I couldn't care less whether there is or isn't, as they're remembered for the good things they did. There's statues of *Queen Victoria, JB Priestley, Joseph Priestley, Samuel Lister, Titus Salt, Richard Cobden, Richard Oastler, William Edward Forster, Abraham Balme, Robert Peel* etc plus *35 Kings and Queens around City Hall* itself, and no doubt many more well known names across the 141 square mile city.

Karl's right about Sharks not making you an artist. People are amazed because it's a fricking Shark. Just like people are amazed at Dinosaurs. If that makes you an artist, tons of people could go catching lions or gorillas. That's not being an artist. That's owning a zoo. They're impressive, but it doesn't make someone an artist. Mother nature would be the artist. And of course not everyone could do it. But anyone can easily think of anything that could top it. A whale.

I actually think Karl is probably right about sculptors accidently knocking off limbs when creating statues. Ricky disregards it saying "that's what the artist saw". But you never see portrait paintings where the artist decided to not bother painting the limbs of a subject. I imagine it would be incredibly easy to accidently knock off an arm while sculpting brittle parts like that.

The thing about conceptual art is that anyone can do it. You just need the set of instructions eg. put a shark in a tank. That's why it's called conceptual art. You are just showing a concept. This makes it different to most art, where you need technical skill to paint etc.
