I did bridal gown alterations for years from my home - on my kitchen table. I was able to stay home with my kids ( 4 ) and have a little money . My sewing skills were a blessing as were hers

A wedding dress that ISN’T sleeveless is SO refreshing to see-thank you! After a 150-lb. weight loss, I’m just NOT looking to wear a sleeveless dress, because I don’t like the way my stretch-marked, jiggly upper-arms look. There’s absolutely no reason for me to be uncomfortable in my wedding dress. For those who will say that I should be able to wear anything I want no matter what my size, I agree, but let’s face facts, reality is what it is. I’m not ashamed of my arms, I’m just not looking to have my wedding reception double as their debutante ball!

Exactly! I am not ashamed of my thighs or my arms or my stomach or my hairy legs, i just like to cover them. When people assume that I am they are implying that I should be. Sometimes it feels like we're pushing so hard against enforced modesty that that dressing "modestly" (quotes bc I don't like that word) as a choice is becoming not allowed just like dressing revealing used to be.

I just love the cut of the dress you're working on in the video. And the fabric too, of course. You are so gifted. I'm glad you got away and could spread your wings and fly, creating so much beauty on the way. Wishing you and your loved ones all the very best.

The dress was already made sleeveless if you look carefully. I believe the sleeve work is just for filming but I agree, we need sleeved dresses.

I always stopped and adored wedding dresses in windows since I was 4 yrs old. Bought wedding dress books. When it came time for my wedding? Short cream dress from, not really bridal dress😢 would love for a do over.

I'm so glad you & your husband left that cult together!

She was lucky that her husband was on board with them leaving the cult. Most of the time the women are on their own and end up escaping their husbands or feeling trapped.

I just blows me away that there are adults who feel that they have the authority to tell another adult what they are allowed to wear. The world would be so much better if everyone would just mind their own business. If someone is not hurting anyone or anything else or themselves, if what they are doing is legal, then stay in your own lane. What they are doing is none of your concern.

So, showing your cleavage almost down to your belly button and your back all the way to your waistline is freedom and expressing yourself?
