Great video. Punches are huge timesavers and really help with consistency. I did want to mention I own both sets you linked in the description and they are used for different purposes and are not just different price points. The Owden set is meant for strap ends and has longer straight cutting edges than what you might want for things like wallets, notebook covers, etc. That extra cutting surface can really get in the way for more delicate work.

Awesome dude! I alway just go around the line with my round knife, or lots of little cuts rocking the round knife back and forth. Haha or sometimes I just pick up the leather if it’s a couple plies and cut it with my carving knife! Great vid man!

Thanks man! I kind of figured that's how you would do it. Keeping it old school! I've actually never even tried a round knife!

Thanks for Watching, Roger. Fancy tools definitely make life easier, but you can definitely get the job done without them.

Again good video brother. I have to look at my punch3s as the slip off of the leather and get frustrated 😫

Out of the set that you bought of corner punches what are the ones that you use the most if you can tell me in mn that would be awesome I'm looking to pick some up I don't really want to buy a full set I rather pick up one or two good quality ones I'm unsure what sizes would be appropriate Please And Thank You.

thanks, how do you sharp those tools... I read they came very dull

I’m always stubborn and do the free hand xacto cuts but it always slightly sucks and has to be fixed with sanding. I’ll swallow my pride and buy the punch.

Hahaha I did the same thing before I had a set of punches. Couldn't believe I had waited so long once I got them. They'll change the game for you.

I have that cheap Amazon set. They don't cut anything thicker then 4oz. And that's after I reground and resharpened them. Maybe you lucked out? But mine are useless.

That's crazy! Mine definitely needed a strop with some rouge but they are sharp as hell. I do strop them (as with all my cutting tools) right before I use them so maybe I've manged to polish a turd as it were...

What is the size of corner cutter?
@BlackFlagLeatherGoods3 жыл бұрын
Mine came as a set of about 8 or 10 of them. To be honest, I only use two out of the set and have no idea what size they are. One's big and one's small.

Hahaha! Just buy the punch!!!
@BlackFlagLeatherGoods2 жыл бұрын
Haha! It's true. Even the cheap ones are so much easier than trying to cut it any other way! Thanks for watching!
