In other songs, the other singer is more prominently featured (Unchained Melody, he was the ONLY singer). They are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Rolling Stone placed them into the top 20 music duos of all time. This song was a number 1 song. They weren't on the Motown label (they were signed by Phil Spector, which was pretty close to the style of Motown at the time). This song was nominated for a Grammy award. Between the two of them, they had amazing vocal range. Bass/baritone - Tenor. They both had amazing vocal control and range.

Then Bobby sang on the Andy Williams show his live version of "Unchained Melody" I watched that performance. They also made appearances on another variety show called "Hullabaloo"

This was from a tv show called Shindig, a great live music show that ran from 1964 to 66. This video version is one where someone has cleaned up the video, and laid the studio recording over it. The undoctored version is out there, with the RB singing live against the backing track, video of noticeably poorer quality, though the voices are great, and you can hear the women in the live audience screaming. This was produced by the great Phil Spector "the wall of sound" but the Righteous Brothers songs back in the days, we cruised playing their music on our car record player and parked with our lady and jumped into the back seat and took care of business! The '60's were great times with all the great artist!!!

A few years ago Bill Medley came to Nottingham in England to watch Nottingham Forest football team( soccer) . We sing that song every time we score a goal. He is very old now but in the UK we love the Righteous Brothers. They weren't motown either.

I'm not trying to criticize anyone but I'm going to tell you one thing Motown is separate from Phil Spector is the '60s Phil Spector is known for his wall of sound that's what it was called and he also made a lot of hits for a lot of artists in the 50s and 60s part of the '70s too.

Big fan of good music, I’m a 80’s baby who grew up on Hip-Hop and rapping everything from the Fat Boys-NWA when I was 3-4 years old . But spinning on the ones and twos was my thing and what I loved the most was the ability for artists to sample which is one of the reasons hip-hop was better in the 90’s (and lyrical Rhyming/songs with meaning). They got their name from performing in bars and a group of black guys told them they were Righteous. History was made after that... when music and talent was real. Check out Rick James and Teena Marie Fire and Desire 🔥🔥 Motown was definitely amazing and the talent.
