I didn't see the first season because I had a feeling it wouldn't be good. Then my suspicions were confirmed and I will definitely not be watching season two. Genuinely popular IP being bastardized to fit the "modern audience" is extremely repulsive. I just stay away from most new shows and wait to see a review before diving in.

‘Leader of the northern armies!’ - been marching round in circles for hundreds of years, army has dwindled to 5 dudes, finds a tower with a literal map drawn on the wall to tell her where to go all along, she doesn’t realise it, Last 5 dudes get killed. Gil-Galad get rid of her, she goes back to ‘avenge’ her brother - Brother ironically is literally just on the other side of the barrier when she jumps off the ship and swims back.

Remember when Mordor was created by a hobo using a key shaped like a flaming sword that drank blood that opened a sluice gate for a canal built by elves and the water flowed uphill to cause a rapid cooling eruption? Remember when the Numenoreans charged in with the sunrise on their backs just like the Rohirrim except they were riding east and for some reason the sun is rising in the west? 😂

The upcoming Rohirrim animated film this year to even Peter Jackson's Gollum films will hopefully send this dross into the same abyss that Balrog in LOTR fell into. Enough!

Plot twist: Guyladriel hits her head and forgets the exchange with Halbrand, so has to fall in love with Annutar all over again! Oh, the horror, oh, the hilarity! Any show that excises Galadriel's grace and magic and turns her into Elfy Girlboss is a travesty and a waste. They should have brought in Celebrian, and had the two play off somewhat - one, the 3000yo elven elder, ruler, and mage tutored by Melian, a literal demigod, and the other one doing elf teen thing and eying up Elrond. And good grief, the bloat is extreme - cut the harfoots, cut everyone in the Southlands, to hell with the invented Sauron worshippers, cut not-Gandalf, have a blue wizard show up every now and then being inscrutable, but seriously: Elves, Numenor, Sauron. That's it. That's your allowance.

The worst thing about this show is that it really doesn't feel like middle earth when you try to watch it.

It makes me just so sad how much potential they had of making a good show because of the budget and of course the amount of source material but instead they decided to go completely in the wrong direction. One of the reason why I stopped watching the newest movies IS because of the constant preaching and promoting of ideologies. Thanks for speaking up and I absolutely love your channel. One thing I'll say for these massive budget megafailures is they're excellent sources of wealth redistribution. All the people who worked on them are (presumably) still getting paid, while the loss belongs to the big dogs.

I keep thinking they gotta be laundering money through this show or doin SOMETHING sketchy when it comes to money. No way it cost a billion dollars.

Perhaps halbrand isn't just going to show up in his terrible disguise and fool everyone, but the trailer doesn't depict that, and if Galadriel is just keeping a secret,1, he still changes into elf ears and people know him, so Celeborn and Elrond will still know he's a shape shifter, 2, her secrecy is not a real character flaw, it's just contrived stupidity for plot, and 3, if he actually shows up again with Galadriel in the room, and she ignores it, this is even more stupid! 4, in lore, Galadriel is the one elf who DIDNT trust Annatar. But again, the trailer is depicting that he is simply relying on this half-baked disguise. So, even if the actual shoe depicts something that makes sense, or a less more sense, the trailer is setting us up to THINK his is the most hair brained disguise plot ever conceived!

It looks likely that this is going to be even worse than the first season. How stupid are Amazon to do this? What absolute rubbish!

You know at one time they used to cancel shows like this mid season because. No body was interested and the ratings were too low. Enter the world of streaming and shows that should have been cancelled after the first episode get green lit for multiple seasons.

I cant even hate watch it at this point. Literally the worst show I have EVER seen. Im sure there are worse shows, but I havent seen them. I literally could not stay awake through a single whole episode of season 1. There's boring, then there is boring nonsense. Jane Eyre is boring, but it isnt nonsense. Rings of power IS the very concept of nonsense. I hope history remembers it in the form of what NOT to do.

Sauron looks how he should've looked in the first season. The jarring change from Helbrand is laughable, but I keep hearing people saying how it's not gonna fool anyone. My question is, is it meant to? I'm a fan of the Shadow of Mordor games and the depiction of Sauron in fair form, so for me this is just how Sauron looks normally. Like Helbrand was the "disguise." They already did the Sauron 'fools' Celebrimbor bit in the first season, they're not doing it again, are they? Also, for the love of Pete, why is Celebrimbor still in a nightgown? He shouldn't be an old guy with short hair who's terrible at the job he's famous for, but why is he still not wearing a single metallic item!? He's the finest smith in Middle-Earth; where's the goddamm finery!? Just give him an ornate bracer, at the very least. Amazon just determined to fail in every aspect of this thing, it really is like watching a multicar pileup.

There is no real game plan in this series no vision and no support from experts on set.

I powered through last season to the end, not this time, I can't be bothered. Its really sad, IMO the guy who plays Arondir is an excellent actor and this miscasting is likely going to tank his career. They could have used CGI and or effects to make him actually look like an elf and it would have been good but now he's forever going to be known as Don Lemonlas. I also think several others in the cast are actually good actors that will never live down the absolute taint stain this 3rd rate abysmally written production will leave on them like the bog of eternal stench.

There are no stakes in this show. Will Galadriel succeed to defeat Sauron or will she gets killed trying? What about Elrond or Isildur? Will they prevent Sauron from creating a master ring? Will they survive? I can't wait to know... because I already do. More special effects and less dialog is not enough to go by. The stories behind the origin of a mountain or of a metal are not compelling. When will studios realize that they need to take risks, to tell new stories, to speak about human struggles instead of capitalizing on superficial things like skin color and tales that we already know the end of?

I will not watch it just not to boost their views, I prefer to watch after content reviews like this.

Even if the show was lore accurate , it's written poorly and most of the acting is bad. Fight choreography is some of the worst I've seen on a screen in years. They ruined some of the characters and made most of the others unlikable and they made a fascinating world seem small and generic. The root of the show is bad. So bad that my brain was having trouble understanding how something that looked so professional could be filmed in such a amateur way.Like a middle school drama kid got ahold of a professionals movie gear

They released a little behind the scenes thing at the same time as the trailer. Nori, the harfoot, is in that. There's also the distinct absence of virtue signalling and DEI sound bites in the snippets of actors talking to the camera.

All I ask is that they take the negativity of the first season, listen to the fans on what they want, and try to make a good show and not tick us off. But I'm gonna watch this with low expectations, just like Velma Season 2.

She is beautiful and elf like. But most of the other characters have awful haircuts and ordinary. I watched 15 minutes of the first episode and it was dreadful. And yes, so wrong, so exploitative to use Tolkein's name in this way.

Hard pass on season 2 of Rings. I'll reread the books. In no way does this reflect the moral absolutes that Tolkien deeply believed in. LOTR is a work of Faith that revolves around the classic and universal theme of the "heroic quest," most of all. I'm sure Tolkien is looking down from heaven, totally disheartened to witness that his works are somehow tied this woke travesty by Amazon! I'd rather honor his memory and hard work in writing such an inspirational classic as LOTR, than to watch this utter mess of DEI ideology with its insipid characters and moral mediocrity. I don't get why people don't like this show. I think it's good, of course it's not going to follow the source material to a tee, like every show and movie based on a book and movie doesn't follow the source material. Like for example the walking dead didn't follow the source material, Harry Potter didn't follow the source material, even the Lord of the rings didn't follow the source material.
