I have two reasons for buying animal crossing amiibo 1) I like animal crossing 2) they are all like $3 a piece

I remember when Amiibos were first released. I was shopping at Target one night and came across some of wave 1 and was like "WOAH they've got Samus in this lineup?!? That's awesome! And holy crap it's Wii Fit Trainer! Oh man I may have to start buying these. However I only had enough money for 1 figure so I purchased Samus, thinking I could get Wii Fit Trainer at a later date. Ever since then I've never seen another Wii Fit Trainer Amiibo in stores and have wished I could go back in time and change my decision that night. At least I was able to get a Japan import.

I don't even care about the in-game functions. I just want them to sit pretty on my shelf.

I can't believe there's no amiibo in any stores now. Aside from random releases, such as Detective Pikachu. I miss seeing those fully stocked amiibo shelves in stores. But none of them should have ever been store exclusives. That caused it to be hell on earth to get some of them. And the exclusive crap still continues, with the Dark Souls amiibo being Gamestop exclusive (which I recently preordered).

For some reason, Target sells American amiibo for, what, $16, and I just bought an imported Japanese amiibo at a Westfield for $9.

As a huge mother fan it was amazing getting figures for Ness and Lucas finding them was another experience though

I always laugh at people saying which figures were the rarest of a wave because they aren't very rare anymore. For example, I got all 3 of the rare wave 2 amiibos for Christmas, along with Gold Mario.

Collecting is only fun if you need to do a bit of hunting. The thrill of walking into a retro game store not knowing what you’ll find is amazing. And when you actually find something you wanted is even better

Theres one thing most people forget to mention when talking about or criticizing amiibo, is that a lot of people might just collect them due to the fact that fan of the less well known nintendo franchises finally have figures of them im not a fan of these games and/or played them but who knew that fire emblem earthbound/mother or kid icarus would get figures (with out paying stupid amounts of money for some rare inport) he'll I'm glad that there's some cool looking pikmin figures personally, but hey that's just what I think, so tell me what you guys think? (But don't be a dick about it)

As a huge Fire Emblem fan I was so happy to get my hands on both the Chrom and Alm amiibos. Especially since I live in a small village and its hard to get by the Amiibos here.

The funniest memory I have involving amiibo is when my friend brought all of her Splatoon amiibos in a paper bag to school because we were having a Nintendo Club meeting and she was offering to let us borrow them to get the costumes in splatoon 2, so imagine us all crowding around in a circle as she tapped in amiibos one after the other

The moment you mention the west coast strike I had a flashback of my case. I'm in Mexico, so game suppliers are rather limited but I remember preordering my Smash Rosalina Amiibo on a store called "gameplanet". I had my preorder ready and waiting, they had set up a date but it just passed, no advice. It happen like 4 or 5 times, I remember checking the Rosalina product page on their site, as it had a "user comment" section and it was an odd way to keep myself updated. They mentioned the West coast strike as being the main reason on why they weren't shipping it. One day without really notice, they cancelled my preorder and turned my money into store money, I checked the page and people where saying that the products where already on store and they where selling preorders to people who didn't preorder. I called my store ASAP and asked them about it: they had MY rosalina and asked them to stay put. Went rushing and payed with my "store money", I am now a happy owner of the Smash Rosalina amiibo, which then proceeded to get resold at ridiculous prices and hoarded by some jerk, but that's another story.

I don't even own a single Amiibo I see them in stock but I never really felt like i needed one Then BotW came out and had outfits and items for Zelda Amiibo But I still just don't feel like I need one, and the "rarity" just made me feel like it's even more pointless to collect
