Click here to join our / discord In 1995 Diesel was WWF Champion, and he was turning into a big problem for Vince McMahon. Diesel was proving to be a poor choice of WWF Champion, and he had no one to work with. Mabel was chosen by McMahon for a mega push as he turned heel and became the King of the Ring. This was one of the biggest mistakes of the WWF's New Generation era.

Do you think history has judged King Mabel too harshly, or was he the WORST King of the Ring of all time? Was anyone worse? If you enjoyed this video then your 👍 are always appreciated.

Honestly I think it was fairly critiqued. I was a child during Mabel’s 1995 KOTR win. I wasn’t too impressed with it as a kid. Now as an adult and looking back at it, I see why he didn’t get far. It wasn’t like he had the talent of a 1993-94 Yokozuna. Hurting opponents didn’t help him either.

He was too inexperienced to be featured as a main eventer, evident by the fact he kept injuring others. I guess "the boys" must have liked him though since he kept his job and ultimately came back to join Taker's faction.

Mabel improved as he got older. He was too green for the spotlight in 1995. By 1999 and 2000 his wrestling had noticeably improved with him having some well paced matches on Heat and Metal. In the mid 2000s he had fun gimmicks and was able to keep up with wrestlers like Chris Benoit which says a lot. He had a great match with Benoit on RAW.

WTF was Vince thinking? Mabel remains the worst King of the Ring winner and it's not even close. At least Billy Gunn was a former member of DX. Did anyone want to see the fat guy from Men on a Mission get a push? When Mabel won KOTR the crowd went mild. Even his heel run got no reaction. When your biggest career highlight at the time was wearing clown make up in a truly terrible Survivor Series match you know you bet on the wrong horse.

The only thing anyone had on him was dexterity but if he cought you you neeed a prayer. dude looked creepy for sure lol All this drawing stuff was simply because it was PG at the time. It was like 1 hr of Monday Night Raw and then a recap with maybe a new match on Sat mornings lol Internet was not normal so only a few folks had access to behined the scene's stuff which is how they got away with the 800 hotline for scoops lol

Personally I really liked seeing Mabel win the 1995 King of the Ring & I didn't really have an issue or problem with it. He was a pretty good heel as King Mabel. But the problem with the 1995 King of the Ring pay-per-view was the lackluster card matches that didn't really draw a crowd or an audience with. While William Regal & Sheamus are two of the worst King of the Ring winners I can't tolerate or stand.
