Enjoyed this. has the publication stayed broadly true to Parker's tastes and vision? I have never really paid him/it that much attention, but no issue about how influential Parker has been.

Not true about '82 in the UK. I was deep into wine at that time and almost all critics hailed 1982 Bordeaux as the, 'the best vintage since 1945.'

I also recall it being well regarded. I suspect that Parker was like the Beatles - right time, right place, plenty of talent and a language that spoke to a new generation. I preferred the Strolling Bones and Dylan.
