@@steamerSama I commend the fact that you said "without knowing 'much' Hindi" thereby signifying that he does know a little (though not enough to call it 'fluent') - which a lot of his dissidents/critics fail to understand! And it's a good thing! He's a product of IIM and IPS - obviously reason enough to learn (organically) another language(s) due to the necessities of staying in a non-Tamil speaking geography. Annamalaiji (almost single-handedly) definitely destroys the false propaganda that BJP tries to push Hindi, while also encouraging each Indian to learn multiple Indian languages along with one's own mother-tongue! His pan-India popularity is another significant feature of present BJP - which is selecting Leaders at the state level for many of the states who command similar pan-India popularity!
