The Rise of Call of Duty Zombies: World At War is the beginning of the zombies series being covered on this channel. It's a miracle this mode even began and the happiest accident zombies could have ever asked for, but Treyarch in 2008 was kicking off the 2nd entry into the golden era with some major style! World at War was received okay, but this mode pushed the game into modern day greatness. Modern Warfare was the beginning, Modern Warfare 2 may be the chapter after, but with these maps, nothing was touching Treyarch here. Nacht Der Untoten was the beginning with the raygun, the wall weapons, mystery box, drops like max ammo, nuke, double points, and more. Verruckt was the scariest map ever made, but introduced the power switch, teddy bears, perk machines like juggernog, quick revive, speed cola, and double tap. Shi No Numa is where the series put on the offensive instead of defensive and introduced the wunderwaffe, hellhounds, and way more. Der Riese or the giant is where it all came together and had the first easter egg in zombies! Enjoy the first video in the series.

a lot of how the community figures out easter eggs is just having a streamer play the game for hours interacting with their chat about new stuff theyve figured out, i’m so glad to have been apart of the zombies community during black ops 3 it was really something special and i don’t think there will ever be anything like it again

As much as i love CoD Zombies (Vanguard is an exception, Cold War is kinda meh for me) there's nothing better than watching the community finding hidden stuff to solve and eventually pile it up into major easter egg, it kinda ruins the surprise during BO4 and Cold War since both game has an obvious hints instead of obvious mechanics with hidden triggered stuff from said mechanics, nevertheless the community for the past 10-11 years has been quite solid and i hope treyarch or activision as a whole just stop developing zombies instead of milking it dry, it deserves a peaceful end both for zombies and its communities

There’s quite some stories behind those Easter egg finds 😂 I was personally involved with Moon, transit and origins. I lost interest after BO2, but I know smartguy316 was involved in most if not all Easter egg hunts from black ops 3 onwards.

When the story got fleshed out, it talked about why Peter was hanging in the building. He tried to parachute down after escaping the hospital he was infiltrating. His cover was blown and even tho he made it out, he died getting caught up in the wires of his parachute in the building. But he was shown to be alive in an alternate universe.

An evanf1997 video about zombies seems like such a natural progression. Maybe it's cause I'm a fan of both, but Destiny and COD Zombies just seem to go hand in hand for me.

Not sure if this is gonna be part of this series, but I am really interested in seeing the easter egg hunts covered in a similar way to the destiny raid races, as in who was the first to figure out each step, how they figured everything out, which teams were competing, and who won. Although I’m not sure if that stuff was widely recorded before BO3.

There are recordings of the older EEs but definitely not like BO3. None of them were races, but there are videos looking for details on the next step for X map. At least there were. I specifically remember Ascension because everyone thought there was more to it. And honestly, you could do a whole video on EE4C

man call of duty zombies is my favourite series out there. it was the place where i first found my addiction to Easter egg/raid moments and is the reason why I think I love destiny the way I do. I cant wait for the rest of these videos to come out as I would love to relive the experience of these maps and games with each of the Easter eggs as well as the community view too that you're videos bring.

I think you forgot something. The PPSh wasn't in the box on Nacht der Untoten (at least not on console versions of Zombies, it was in iPod/iPad World At War Zombies though). Though on Verruckt, the PPSh made its debut. Also, Verruckt was my personal favorite map in WAW. The atmosphere was everything in that map. A creepy, run-down asylum full of sprinting zombies and ghostly noises that just brought you to the brink of insanity as you fought in cramped hallways... I loved it. It was really a more challenging map. It was like the Dark Souls of World At War Zombies.

im excited for the next video cuz i wanna hear about Five some more. i remember back in the day thinking that map was pretty fun, but then one time with my buddy i got scared really badly by the scientist when i wasnt expecting him to attack me (i was like 11 or something for context here) and it shook me up so badly i didnt play the map for like 5 months because i was so scared of the scientist. even to this day, thinking about how scared it made me still makes creeps me out to an extent.

Please do more videos on cod zombies!! For the Spanish speaking communities it is a huge deal. I made a lot of great friendships thanks to cod zombies, and the way you explain and cover these themes is just a perfect combination. Besides you could talk how, like destiny raids, there was a race to find the Easter egg on day one in new maps.

i played a lot of WaW zombies modded maps when my PC wasn't that great, and the opening logo music stuck with me for a long time. the whole time, in fact, that it took me to develop a taste for classical music (you may have seen the videos that are something like "music to make you feel like a 15th century villain", that's what did me in)- and i immediately recognized that intro music. it's Dies Irae, and i just wanted to share that in case someone found it amusing

World at war was my first xbox live game, got it for christmas when i was 10 years old. Man i have so many memories between how visceral the campaign was, the multiplayer was fun and man.. when me and my buds discovered the zombies map after we beat campaign we were all in. Nothing was as much fun as the times i have had with my 3 other homies playing Nacht der Untoten for hours. It was all over when the DLC's launched, absolutely hooked.

Dude, this new series boutta be both a hoot & a holler. This is great. CoD zombies is the only get that my non gamer family is able to play. So it has a special place in my heart. Also played every single one of the games as they came out. It was crazy, all the hype, KZfaq vids, Easter eggs etc. It was a whole vibe.

Eventually I moved over to Destiny, and Your videos helped me to understand the story a lot. It is unreal to have you making videos on both of my favourite games. Keep up the good work.

Okay Ioved this. I think a lore dive and walkthrough of the story would also be an amazing video or several video. The lore of zombies is absolutely insane and I would love to see a run through of it and how the Easter eggs basically make up the main story of zombies. But I’d love to see more of this series.

I still haven't found anything similar to Black Ops Zombies after all these years. These modes were incredible. Unlimited co-op fun with my bro :) Awesome job with this vid, I learnt a surprising lot about Der Riese! I only ever played it in the Black Ops 1 DLC, would have loved to play the original though. Can't wait for your next instalment.

Seeing the original Modern Warfare just gave me goosebumps. Me as a kid couldn't stop playing with my friends. The story was incredible and honestly tought me what my mom always tried. War is horrible. But also boosted my competitive spirit and the will to get better at games. To archive things I never thought possible. And made me the Gamer I am to day. I wished for so many new and rising players to have experienced this first hand. Tho skillbased matchmaking will never fuel that kind of feeling, like getting owned by the same person over and over until you emerged victorious in just one gunfight. And then in 2. Later to dominate lobby's yourself by studying and copying what top players did. It was the greatest.

the atmosphere of call of duty world at war zombies has never been matched. nacht der untoten, verruckt, shi no numa and der riese all had a dark unsettling tone to them. each map introduced their own new features, der riese introduced the mode and its staples, verruckt introuced power and perk colas, shi no numa introduced traps and an alternative transport method the cable car thing and der reise introduced the pack a punch and teleporters. they innovated a lot in the beginning of zombies while keeping the darker atmosphere. looking back kino der toten is the last map that felt like the originals but i dont have the same excited memories of it, mayvbe because it didnt add much? after kino der toten they went off the deep end and started making crazy maps which is when i stopped playing.

peter mecain was acually trying to parachute into the facility and parachute messed up and got him stuck on the ceiling and then he was hung so he aint hang himself but this was an amazing video even for someone who has heard the zombies story form beginning to end tons of times
