At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Unpopular opinion but I prefer the mature Hurrem over the young one. She's classy, smart, elegant. I just couldn't stand that screaming and childish outburst of anger of the young one.

I love both of them but season 4 Hürrem is the character of all time to me. She's the best version of Hürrem for sure.

There are some toxic fans who always defend hurrem and her greed for power. Protecting your children doesn't mean to kill or torture others. Hurrem killed many poor concubines, torture firozey hatun, kidnapped others, trying to kill Mustafa many times and also killed rana sultan and nazinen

I don't care what anyone says. Hurrem did everything for her children and for that I will forever like and appreciate her for her strength and resilience from a slave girl to an empress and a mother

*Cult making excuses for her, trying to justify her. Protecting herself or children doesn't mean to kill others or setting traps against others. This is called aggression not defense. she tried to kill Mustafa many times, she Poisoned him first then she assassinated him but failed, despite all, Mustafa saved selim life from janissaries. If hurrem has the right to protect herself or her children then how could hurrem's opponents be the devil? She will reap whatever she sow, her children become enemies of each other.*

@@saqibmuhammad7653 I mean that is a gross mischaracterisation of so much. Where do I even start. I'd say she's on the same level as Mahidevran and they're both morally grey but Ibrahim is far worse than either of them. Everyone overlooks his crimes because he's a man.
