A few years ago, Jackson He had never played football in his life. This past weekend, he made college football HISTORY by becoming the first player ever born in China to score a touchdown at the FBS level. Here's his incredible story.

It’s actually pretty beautiful to see American and Chinese young men form a brotherhood despite our nations’ political and economic disputes it shows at our core we are all humans and should treat each other based on actions and character rather than generalizations

As a fellow Asian (Vietnamese) who came from another country (Germany) to the states, his story is inspiring and very relatable. I joined football in HS as well with no knowledge or knowing English in order to try to fit in even when my mom was against it. Definitely the best decision I made because I made life time friends and improved my English. I ended up leading my team in most tackles for loss in my senior year (div. 1 SoCal) and received a grant for college. I wasn’t always the fastest or strongest but I trained my ass off and studied the weekly scout report in order to get the edge on the other team. Cheers mate

Coach O (of LSU) grew up down the bayou in Louisiana where cajun french was (and still is to an extent) very common. When he was in high school, they'd call plays in french bc everyone on the team could speak it.

Had a similar story back in 1995, I immigrated to the U.S., fell in love with football my junior year, then walked on and made the Varsity squad my senior year of h.s., I never played football in my life. Our team then was a perennial powerhouse in the state, we were ranked #3 preseason and my teammate was the 1995 Mr. Football. I learned how to play football by playing Madden '94 and Techmo Bowl lol It was because of football that led me to love lifting weights.

@ex vandal ya I'm not saying he's an NFL running back by no means, I was just saying with his athleticism and frame, they would MAYBE and that's a huge MAYBE bring him into camp for a training camp body to see if he has any special team value to maybe stash on the practice squad for a few years to see if he can develop into something. But the first stage is learning how to play the game and developing him on the college level first. I mean he's smart, has a good frame, and he's athletic so there's something there to work with.

I play in the same league as he did in China. Our match against his team got cancelled... unfortunately. But Football in China is growing. Lookup the CNFL (Chinese National Football League) on Facebook. We're very happy for him. I think personally this is a good step for Asian Representation. It's good to see that more Asians can lookup to him to try out football.

David Fence all countries have good and bad. Unfortunately some governments are worse than others and feed harmful propaganda at a much higher rate to their people. China and North Korea and prime examples of this.

Yeah, the only Asian born players I know of in the NFL are Ka'imi Fairbairn and Yunghoe Koo and both of them are kickers and not from China. That would be huge.

Good for him. America would welcome teaching him all about football. We tried to kick start interest in the game in Europe but they kept to soccer but it might be a hit with the fresh-faced eager Chinese. We introduced baseball to the Japanese in the 1950s and now it's their #1 national sport.
