The Rise Of The Vacor De Mexico Marbles Company: Part 1 Industrias Cornejo.
The year is 1930 in Mexico City, Mexico.
In part 1 of our documentary series, Alejandro Medina Vazquez: son of founder Carlos Vazquez Cornejo and Vacor De Mexico Marbles Company co-owner, describes the beginnings and historical background of Industrias Cornejo.
🟢Joining us in the discussion are Vacor De Mexico Company co-owner, brother, and Chief Engineer Jorge Medina Vazquez.
⚪️Daughter Mary Vazquez: who kick-started this project several months ago.
🔴David Tamulevich: Senior Advisor, marbles historian and consumate professional.
Industrias Cornejo was the predecessor to Cornejo / Vazquez / Medina family marbles companies : El Aguila S.A., Canicas Mexicanas , Vacor De Mexico and Perfect Glass.

Great interview to the Cornejo brothers! I’m an adult who’ve enjoyed marbles manufactured in their factory and now a marble collector, pitty they didn’t keep some of the early marbles made by Manufacturas El Aguila from 50’s. It has been great to see some of my items in the film. Thanks Stephen! I hope they could organize some guided tours for marble collectors to know the production process

This is truly an awesome video about this marble company. What's interesting is this past spring I bought an assorted net of marbles and the manufacturer is Glasfirma International Mexico

I found a HUGE clay or concrete marble and I wonder if it is Vacor (ICSA) or before.

Hi Amy, most of the clays we find are American or European, but if you live in Mexico, or found them there - I would think it’s much more likely. I believe they were only distributed in Mexico for the most part. I have a few examples that I need to photograph. The texture is a little different than most clays.
