Rotten tomatoes said it was unoriginal. Dunno - to this day, this is still my favorite animated film. I thought it was very original with a FANTASTIC soundtrack. same goes for emperor's new groove. Back when animation companies hired some REALLY great artists for their soundtracks. aw, man. making me want to watch this again for the 273739379th time.

I never understood why critics always said this movies bland, this is like the greatest kid movie ever. The songs kick ass, the characters are lovable, and the story's just one big fun adventure.

The voice acting in this was spotless to me, especially since I had the audio tape and I listened to it all the time as a kid. I can't get Tulio's face out of my head when I hear his VA, same with Miguel.

After all these years, I just realized Tulio is getting more into the god role after he drinks the wine

I like this version more than Elton John and Randy Newman's.

I always love Dreamworks movie, epesially El Dorado. Every time I see a good movie on the big screen, if it's animated, I swear that I start wishing for Dreamworks to crossover with Kingdom Hearts. Sorry to go off topic, but it is interesting. Because I always say: "This a Dreamworks movie? Not Disney?! Oh wait, Dreamworks is not in Kingdom Hearts, Damn!" I get my hopes up. But with everyone agreeing with too many movies, in addition to tons of random dislikes, that's why Disney goes solo. Chicken Little and Star Wars had their limits. Ace upgrade for Chicken Little seems plausible, Star Wars Keyblades could be possibe too. There is this Keyblade Graveyard that have, well, you get the idea.
