As a fisherman of 50 years, I can tell that it is a live heathy fish. A dead fishes eyes cloud over quicky, and body color starts to fade.Note the glossy shine that is a healthy slime coat. As for not moving, Fish often go ridged when held up by the jaw ,that's why people unhook them like that. Every fish is different. Some are tired or go into shock. Ever see fisherman hold a fishes tail and move it back and forth before letting it go? That is to wake the fish up . What the Rock does wrong is hold the middle of the rod. A lighter rod could break. A millionaire could easily fish places where big fish are common. That's a real clip . I would bet all the trout, white bass, croppie, bluegill, perch,and steelhead in my freezer on it! (Tonight I'll be eating rainbow trout).

For all those people thinking The Rock is “acting” or has someone handing him the fish off screen… The Rock does his own fish farming on his property in Virginia, and raises all his own bass. Largemouth Bass, Striped Bass (Hybrid), and a number of others. He’s very open about how this is his favorite way to decompress from the grind. If you look up his social media you can find many videos of him fishing here and you can clearly see there’s no act. It’s obviously much easier fishing on a farm so it’s a lot more leisurely for him, no smoke and mirrors here 😂. The Rock is one of those rare examples of a genuinely good dude in Hollywood, he doesn’t need to fake catching a fish 😅. Take care!
