Only thing that was not on point was his voice. It was not fluent. By 2002 it became smooth like water. 2002 was his peak on the mic. His promos against Brock, Eddie, taker, trips, Hogan, Kurt were on point.

@sourabbarman8891 I disagree. By 2002 he was speaking a lot faster and his voice wasn't as deep. Prior to that, especially 98 to 2000 he spoke in a deeper tone that was more measured and better paced to experience and savour the full effect of whatever he was saying. His promos in '99 are the absolute best of his career.

The Rock's promo work from 1998-2003 is unmatched. Best talker in the history of the business. The only ones that even come close are Ric Flair in the 80s, Steve Austin circa 1996-1997, Macho Man, Roddy Piper, and Dusty Rhodes.

He's a million miles away from anyone else in the industry when it comes to the mic, it's not even a contest. I've lost count over the years how many times The Rock simply had a mic in his hand, and before he even opened his mouth he already had the crowd in the palm of his hand. You can't teach that, it's pure talent.

@@moddedae8644 Yeah you’re right, in my opinion what constitutes elite mic/promo skill is the ability to improvise, go off script, and still evoke emotion & reaction from the fans and the crowd. The catchphrases, the unforgettable promos, and staying in character all plays a part in that.

The Rock always had That consistent, magnetic charisma that grabs you and keeps you glued to the screen. He was an absolute master at it! Not only did he have the gift of gab, but he could make you laugh like no other. The WWE needs more of that-guys who can not only hype up the crowd but also sprinkle in some good old-fashioned comedy. A lot of the talent can cut a promo, sure, but making it genuinely funny? That's a whole different level, and The Rock owned it. Heck, he could crack a joke that almost had the Undertaker, the epitome of wrestling seriousness, breaking character. That's pure talent and entertainment!

The Rock and Stone Cold are the perfect examples that u dont need to go on a 3 years win streak to be considered "dominant" and "favorite". They win, they lose, IT DOESNT MATTER IF THEY WIN OR LOSE because they would always be fan-favorites and always be dominant on the mic. Back in the day they switched champions every 2 months and nowadays the stroylines are bigger than The Rock´s muscles. Nowadays WWE as almost as good of a roster as they had back in the day. Almost every guy is plausible to go on a championship run with the right storyline. I would even say the depth of this roster is better than Attitude´s Era roster. The big stars arent nearly as good but WWE have so much possibilites they can go to.
