My girlfriend and I really appreciate your vids. We can tell you truly enjoy what you do and it shows in your enthusiasm and energy when teaching. We get a good laugh with certain comments and mannerisms you have and truly enjoy them. We got into your vids because I’m fascinated with unconventional weaponry like the staff, rope dart, and various others. We enjoy your vids and hope that you continue to make them. You are appreciated! 🤘👊

Had just commented on another of your videos "Would love to see what you might do with a couple of double-bladed, longer hilt (but not staff length), shorter bladed sabres; can definitely see those as being complementary or adaptable to your fighting style", and this video came up in my feed. Sensational.

Hey michelle!! I love your videos and my husband and I have started out with some flow basics watching you. One thing tho, I am really out of shape and just getting in to this activity. I wonder if you could do a video of some good basic stretches and other warm up types of activities--for example a build up system to get the muscles to the point where a person is not injuring themselves by overdoing things because its so fun and so easy to just try to push and see what you can do. I've had to pull myself back a few times and it would be nice to have a visual guide for stretching/warm up. Thanks for all you're vids!! Super huge fan :)

Awesome tutorial, thank you! I simply can't get enough of cool spin/throw combos. 5:36 While practicing this, I found it easier not to start with a staff right away. Instead, I started with a juggling ball to get the hang of the hand/arm movement and aim. You could also use something like a sock tied into a knot, I guess. After I got to the point when I could do 10 confident throws on each hand consequently (i.e. right to left -> left to right for a total of 20 throws not missing once), I switched to a short staff. This way, it's a lot more forgiving to your legs, your feet, your floor, and, most importantly, your staff 😅 I guess, this could be a universal step 0 to any throwing technique if you struggle in the beginning.

Hey, I love your videos. I have awfull shoulder problems and I practice these tricks as a kind of physical therapy. It's helped alot, and you're the only person that has videos that explain them well enough for me to learn. All that said, I was wanting to pick up a lightsaber. Specifically the ultrasabers Flamberge. (The kylo ren style one) but I'm worried that the "cross guard" will get in the way. I'd like some feedback on if the cross guards will stop me from doing these tricks before I order the saber. If you could do a video with a cross guard sword or saber that shows or explains the pros and cons of the cross guards that would be awesome. But just a comment on this would be fine. :)
@SiegeDestroyer
@SiegeDestroyer 6 жыл бұрын
I have worked with cross guard sabers and your idea of a flow/cross guard would be epicly amazing if you could pull it off. While the cross guard can be used in all saber forms the idea of flow cross guard would be really challenging but not impossible. A few cons I can see/found: - You will have to relearn wrist rolls as the cross guard will hit your wrists and forearm, nothing more than teaching your body to twist the wrist more than usual. - Flow sabers are made for balance between hilt and blade, you notice hers has a very plain hilt, has no sound, also the thickness of the hilt is similar to the blade. The cross guard would change the balance so you would have to recalibrate the ratio and they are already hilt heavy however when you get balance it would be a matter of learning to get use to the weight. - Basic moves would like Fish Tail would be fine but when you are spinning the saber in the air or across your body for a Rocket or Angel Roll it may prove challenging or not possible as the cross guard could hit your body. However since its not been done before we wouldn't know till you tried it. Before buying the saber maybe see if you can't make one from pvc or dowel and use it as a lighter practice saber to help get the techniques/mechanics down. I am keen to see how far a flow cross guard can go :D

Hey Michelle, thanks for all the great lessons you offer! I'd love to learn this trick but it appears to be very difficult to exercise with a longer staff (wooden bo staff). I can't quite get the rotation eventhough I keep both my arms straight. I even use my upper hand index finger to get more force into it. I always hit my lower hand (very hard :-D ). Any tips or tricks? Keep up the great work. I'm especially enjoying the staff manipulation ones. :-) Greetings from Germany

Tres cool. So hopefully not dumb questions . . . how tall are you and what is the blade length on your saber (32"? 36"?)? It looks like a full blade, but I cannot quite get a lightsaber (hilt+blade) to body ratio worked out from just watching you. OR, does length really not matter as long as I just focus on the technique and form? Thanks for the great vid. Cheers.
