I just rewatched this on Disney plus after seeing it when I was seven. (No not in theaters). And my gosh how aren’t more Disney fans aware of this film, i found it to be a wonderful product of its time and fully recommended anyone who has the ability to see it, give it a watch. It has the wholesomeness of old 70’s Disney, that just gives you nostalgia.

Disney dropped the ball on marketing. Maybe half-way through the movie run they pushed hard and even had guys dressed up in perfect Rocketeer outfits show up at theaters, but it wasn't enough. Later people would actually walk up to Baldwin and tell him he got screwed.

One of the few great superhero movies of the 90s, made by the same guy who directed the first Captain America. Such a shame that the public didn't give it much of a chance. Release this today, and I guarantee you it would be a hit.

My family and I loved watching this movie! I don't care what all youse says. This is a great live action Disney movie that's been a part of my childhood! It has a great plot, characters/ including Cliff Secord [the Main Protagonist and my favorite character/hero], Peevy Secord's friend, the giant strong henchman Lothar who is played by actor Tiny Ron and the wonderful actor Timothy Dalton who plays a really great Nazi Villain, special effects that still hold up, romance, great escapes, action, and plenty of comedy! It's a shame this movie didn't get that much credit back then it is now!

Complete opposite of other kid friendly movies in the 90s like home alone and jurassic park which had kids talking for months after the movies came out and jurassic park holds up well even today. Movie turns 30 today! I remember buying the dvd years back The main actor Billy Campbell actually conquered his fear of flying while filming Had no idea Timothy Dalton and Jennifer Connelly were in this, her character is pretty dated as far as comic book females but thankfully she is integral to the plot Joe Johnston, same director who did Jumanji, Jurassic Park III, and Captain America Interesting as it's not the first time he's handled a swashbuckling period piece It's an amazing throwback to pulp matinee serials The characters are also allusions to real-life people that existed in the 1940s The effects are dated and the script is pretty empty and hollow when it comes to developing a compelling story Stinks it didn't make enough at the box office but thankfully has a big legion of fans Didnt know it was based on a 1982 comic book Connelly says they are finally working on a sequel but no other details This movie is a great mixture of gun-toting gangsters, focusing on fascism, Nazi propaganda, experimental science, and Errol Flynn-like adventures Good share of dark elements and fun plus many actors who weren't as famous back in the day

I really really wish more people saw and new about this movie, because to me, it just might be the most underrated Disney classic of all time. There should be a sequel in the future, and it doesn't have to try to be darker and edgier. Just keep the light-hearted fun of the original! Maybe Travis Knight could direct a Rocketeer movie because as shown in Bumblebee, he clearly has respect for the source material. With that said: #RocketeerReturns!

Ironically, Timothy Dalton (who in this movie plays the main antagonist Neville Sinclair, an Errol Flynn-type actor/Nazi spy) actually has played a spy, namely the famed spy James Bond, in the two previous movies up to this point, "The Living Daylights" (in 1987) and "License To Kill" (in 1989).
