David discusses the particulars of his XPR stack and how he gets the most out of this glorious preamp. Note that the Ebtech products discussed in the video are now made my Morley.

I've been waiting for this one! Excellent video! I'd love to hear you play some of the "bells and violins" from Third Stage.

Great video! One neat thing about the XPR too is the programmable volume has treble compensation (increasing the treble as the volume is reduced).

My problem is Input levels on the modules..I take the line out of my Amp/Load box into a Rockman Chorus and Rockman Echo,then into a stereo power amp..I have to drastically reduce the load box’s line out,or it completely overloads the chorus and echo..My final power amp can’t be turned up loud enough because the input signal is so weak..would a line shifter fix this?..Any thoughts or suggestions?
@perfectsound5007 күн бұрын
My suggestion is to use active full range boosting. You can use a stereo EQ after the Echo to boost the level of the modules considerably. You can run the EQ flat and just use it as a boost. You can also use two Micro Amps…left and right. In this situation, I would recommend active over passive.

@@perfectsound500 Thanks!!…I didn’t even think about using an EQ..I know using the modules separately isn’t how they were meant to work,and I do use them as a system with my Sustainor,but the chorus and echo sound so good,I like to use them with my Marshall rig..I appreciate the help!!

I have an X100 I tried to have refurbished but I couldn't get the parts I needed.

There are technicians that totally refurbish them. Check out the Facebook Rockman group.

When you come back into the effect returns on the XPR, are you using a 1/4-inch TRS Male to Dual 1/4-inch TS Male (one into left and one into right)?
@perfectsound5008 күн бұрын
I am taking the left & right outputs of the stereo echo with standard unbalanced patch cables into the respective left & right effects return. TRS cables are only used on the outputs of the hum eliminator and line level shifter.

@@perfectsound500 Thanks David. I'm actually working with a Dunlop Echoplex EP103 delay pedal, which only has one output, and an Rockman XP100. I enjoy your posts.

@@bobpeterson4930 You would use the “right” effects return.

Yes…just visual…not audible. The calibration of this loop (level wise) was not thought out too well by SR&D

@@perfectsound500 I'm actually doing an experiment with my XPR as we speak. Guitar, XPR, loop out to Spark, headphone from Spark out back to XPR return, in stereo. Main out to USB interface. Direct monitor on.
