I found it refreshing, and aside from being a Stones fan, I'm actually primarily a hip hop and R&B artist 😅 so I certainly venture outside my comfort zone. I would say that the Rolling Stones are actually a lot more versatile than most bands in terms of experimenting with different genres and actually excelling at them. Most Stones albums have a mix of rock, blues, country, folk, gospel, and other genres going on. I will gladly take some recommendations if you have some. I try to stay open minded to new music.

Fantano really dropped the ball on this review. (its the stones. they deserve a full review) and he approached this album all wrong. The stones aren't here to prove anything or push new boundaries. They've done that plenty of times already. To me, and anyone who's a real musician, this album sounds like a bunch of guys that love what they do and love who they do it with. Making music isn't always about what new thing can you contribute or what boundary can you push. sometimes its as simple as just getting together with your friends and jamming and having a good time. It’s fine for finding it on streaming apps, but that’s about it. There’s a Paul Smith collaboration that produced some nice artwork, though.

If you’re smart (you’re not) you’ll understand a little bit of music..But you don’t, I mean, you can’t

umm I'll be honest I was terrified this would be a sad and embarrassing album - gave it a first full listen yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised. Only one song I didn't like, a lot of songs that were good, and there were some truly fresh and exciting BANGERS on there. hopefully it keeps getting better after a couple listens.

Some of it's great! Love Bite My Head Off, don't think it's 'overblown' but it is unfortunate that it wasn't release in the late 70s where it belongs lol. "Whole Wide World" is indeed corny, though. And "Get Close to You" sounds like contemporary Christian rock.

I only listen to rock and metal on Spotify. Anything else on Pandora. Unless if they're a band or group. I only keep up with modern rock/metal! Not into a lot of trends, especially due to the fan bases of Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Ariana Grande.

i liked it but i agree it’s not one where most of the tunes are memorable. still that song with gaga is brilliant. 6.5/10

I went in with the same level of skepticism, but I ended up liking it overall. “Depending on you” has a pretty catchy hook? Is it re-inventing the wheel. Nope. But I didn’t have that expectation in the first place.

I disagree with the attitude that you automatically assume that such artists release new stuff because they want to prove something or shake the world... Like, maybe they just want to have fun playing music 🤔 It's kinda pretentious I think to automatically assume what you assumed
