The walk begins with an unfortunate, but expected, half an hour of rain in which I was unable to continue the descent from Rome Termini to Montecitorio passing through the Quirinale and the Trevi Fountain, and here we are in the heart of Rome, the Pantheon, it begins to get serious with the first splendid glimpses between Via del Corso and Piazza di Spagna, up to the surprising atmosphere of Villa Borghese, in its most beautiful and panoramic point, the Pincio. Descent towards the Tiber passing through Piazza del Popolo and the Ara Pacis up to Castel Sant'Angelo and San Pietro, and here I enter my first foreign state of 2024, the Vatican! Second part of the itinerary with the first sleepers up to Piazza Navona, then passing through Campo de Fiori and Ponte Sisto towards a not exactly touristy neighborhood: Trastevere, with its street food streets and its unique atmosphere. A short walk between the Tiber Island and the Jewish Quarter, with the spectacular path between Portico d'Ottavia and the ruins of the Theater of Marcellus, leads to the Capitoline Hill and the Altar of the Fatherland, which I climbed up, completely free of charge, to admire much more than one of the many panoramas of European cities, with a 360 degree view of Rome. We end on a high note with a walk through the Imperial Forums to the Colosseum, the end of the itinerary, for now...
