One of my favorite things I learned about this movie is that Tommy Wiseau apparently wanted to do a sub plot where Johnny is a vampire and wanted to have a flying car scene(?) but dropped it when he realized they didn’t have the money to do a flying car scene. I would give anything to see it.

Tbh, going to a cult screening / midnight screening of this film is genuinely really enjoyable and its really fun to throw spoons and scream Go go go go go go go go go when the camera keeps panning every 2 seconds

I just stumbled upon this Pewds classic in my YT recommended just a mere 3 days after watching "the room". I can tell you Pewds is spot on when summarizing this movie, you can't just appreciate it once. It takes time to marinate.

The thing with bad movies is, they're trying to get things right but failing on a few key points. The Room succeeds in getting EVERYTHING wrong. And watching Q&A with the cast, they explain how precise Tommy wanted their lines to be. There is no improv in this film; nothing is haphazard. This movie was crafted. Three love scenes in the first 20 minutes, ludicrous blocking (the scene where all the gents stand in the room in their tuxedos is brilliant), bad dialogue, new and irrelevant characters appearing out of nowhere, the final scene where he closes the box and then opens it again... Too many nuggets to list. People didn't know what to make of this movie at first, because we're used to being spoon-fed everything (we ask questions like, 'Is this supposed to be funny?'). More people seem to appreciate it now, which is great because it means art and subtlety are still alive. Apparently the bulk of the film's 6 million dollar budget was spent on a billboard ad by the LA freeway. I think the ad was up there for 3 years or something. That alone is inspiring. Unbelievable creativity and balls :)

I miss this era of pewdiepie. It feels so comfy for some reason.
