This is the first film on the research and excavation of the VOC-ship the Rooswijk. The project, called #Rooswijk1740, is led by the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands, in collaboration with Historic England. MSDS Marine is the contractor.
In 'The Rooswijk,' filmed by Kai Dieho, the 2016 expedition is showcased in which a better understanding of the Rooswijk wreck site, the ship's design and the state of preservation of the materials on the seabed in situ was researched. You can see how the team members carry out the survey, working underwater and talking about the importance of the wreck site and the history of the ship.
