Roy Castle is one of my all time heroes. Even when it was obvious he was going to die and no more could be done; he ploughed his efforts into raising money for The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation- to make sure that others would hopefully not suffer the way he did. I could not be more proud of my hero. God Bless you Roy xx

It was sad when Roy Castle died. He made Record Breakers. He was an inspirational man, an entertainer and a hero.

I bet you helped to keep my Dad alive at the moment Roy. He's got terminal lung cancer but even though he was diagnosed in 2016, immunotherapy has kept him alive still. xx

Wow is youre dad still alive ? I thought if you got lung cancer you were a gonna . Hopefully hes ok

@@djcranium1210 So did I! He's still doing brilliantly though. He has regular scans & blood tests, even through the pandemic, & the Immunotherapy has halted things in its tracks so far. He's been very lucky as Leah Bracknell from Emmerdale was diagnosed with it around the same time as my Dad but sadly passed away over a year ago.

@@beasmith1 I'm glad hes doing well xx. Was it from smoking? I smoke and I'm giving up now because my lungs feel bad and I hit 40yrs old and I've been smoking since 23. It's time to quit

@@djcranium1210 Yes, his was to do with smoking. He had been smoking since about the age of 8! Yes, definitely pack the smokes in. Switch to vaping even. Better for you than smoking they seem to think.

It’s a shame it starts with saying that people with lung cancer who hadn’t smoked are “innocent” which leads to the suggestion that smokers who get lung cancer deserve it. My dad and grandad (both smokers) died of lung cancer both aged 59 and my dad tried several times to stop over the years. Lung cancer is a viscous illness and it’s a shame that smokers are seen as asking for it - hopefully nowadays with vape and support, more people can stop smoking but don’t blame them - it’s an addiction like any other.
