The Royal Hudson: 43 years from 1974 to 2017

This is a short 3 minute 'screener' of our newest one hour DVD featuring the Royal Hudson 2860, from the time she was rebuilt in 1974, until on display today in Squamish at the Railway Heritage Park. Highlights include her first test runs, her VIP debut on the Squamish runs traveling over wooden trestles still in place in 1974. Also featured are two high speed trips to Seattle and on her way to Angeles in the 1970's. Then her rebuild in 2005 and her final run in 2009.

If there was one bell as famous as the Liberty Bell, it might've been the one on the Royal Hudson. Wish I could've seen it in person.

As a wonderful experience I used to love it and I am very lucky to have worked on it for about three years before the Diesel engines showed up

The Hudson is very nice but the rarest engine in the WCRA collection is CP 8000. The Last Baldwin DRS4-4-1000 left in the world.

What about CP 3716 she's has been a part of excursion service along with the Royal Hudson before being sold to the Kettle Valley Steam Railway after excursions to Squamish were canceled 1999 right before the new millennium. Also, it has done a doubleheader excursion with the engine.
