lol everyone saying that these ships are garbage because of the amount of issues have no idea what they’re talking about .. these ships have been tested time and time again, and have proven themselves to be a formidable force.. that being said, these ships are up to 28 years old (the first ship was built in 89’, the last ship built in 2001).. things are bound to break when a ship is that old

44:00 the fact that Russian subs could be sailing in the Irish Sea and off the North Atlantic elsewhere in Irish waters, is absolutely terrifying - the Irish navy would be no match for a Russian sub attack, so we Irish absolutely depend on the Royal Navy to defend us 🇮🇪☘️🇬🇧🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️

I really enjoyed this although I know nothing about navy life. There’s a lot that obviously goes on with a ship, its crew and the tasks they are required to do. I did the whole episode in one sitting and it seems that ships, like anything with rotating machinery, have there moments but obviously they have the technicians to sort problems out. I’m not sure I could handle the close contact constantly around others and I couldn’t jthink of a worse place to be than a ship during Covid but I guess these brave and dedicated sailors make a commitment to service whereby they are called on to maintain excellence under all situations. I take my hat off to them, I admire them and I have a new respect for them. Well done production staff, this was a great documentary

The odds of them finding the sub after they drop their last round of sonobuoys has gotta be pretty much slim to none.. out of the thousands of square miles of ocean they could have dropped those last few sonobuoys , they ended up dropping them within a mile of where the sub is (sonobuoys only have a range of about 2000 yards) .. unbelievable

As someone who loves ships, and especially warships, I fuckin loathe the fact that like 65% of the planet’s population just has to drive to their local port or beach to see a massive ship/warship.. I live in northern Ontario, Canada.. it’s like a 4-5 hour drive, one way, to travel down to Toronto and see some Great Lake ships (which aren’t really ships with their skinny length to breadth dimensions) or drive to the mouth of the st Lawrence/Nova Scotia, and I don’t even have a license ..😞

Why are these ships not built with air conditioning and underfloor heating? Being able to breathe clean air in multiple climates globally is important for a ships crew below the weather deck for months ✌️❤️🇬🇧

95% of the total worldwide hostage seizures at sea for ransom occur in the Gulf of Guinea. The information provided in the search results supports the claim that a significant portion of maritime hostage seizures for ransom occurs in the Gulf of Guinea. According to Oceans Beyond Piracy, a substantial number of incidents related to maritime piracy and hostage-taking have been reported in the Gulf of Guinea, indicating the prevalence of such activities in this region. Therefore, based on the available information, it can be concluded that the statement about the Gulf of Guinea accounting for 95% of worldwide maritime hostage seizures for ransom is supported by the search results. DRUG TESTING? did anyone else notice that during the drug testing that the guys collecting the urine did not even wear gloves? seems odd but not nearly as odd as how many guys were quick to volunteer to do 'WILLIE WATCHING"
@robertschumann7737
@robertschumann7737 Күн бұрын
1 gloves are for the watchers peace of mind not the handler. Any medical professional would tell you urine is completely and totally sterile. There is absolutely nothing to worry about in handling it. Could you imagine how time consuming it would be to change your gloves every time you handled a sample during a random 200 person drug test? Easier to just handle em and then wash your hands throughly afterwards. 2 I can't speak for the Royal Navy but when I used to get randomly tested in the Army they actually wanted and expected everyone to pass. It's a huge difference from probation where they expect you to fail. They call it "Willie watching" but "back watching" would be more accurate. Anyone that failed a random usually wanted to fail. It's when you screw up and get ordered to go take a test is when they are hardcore about it.

@jimbarnard12345 Күн бұрын
@@robertschumann7737 i am a medical professional and i can tell you that URINE IS NOT STERILE and i have always wondered how that myth got started, feces is way way more dangerous but urine can cause many problems for you. You said gloves would be time consuming because you stated that for 200 people being tested it would take a lot of time. however you can keep the same pair of gloves on, you do not have to change them after every bottle of urine! I am going to take your word on the willie watching though as it sounds like you are the authority on that....

Why wait 20+ hours to launch helo & drop sonar bouys to detect Russian sub once contact had been lost?? Not a good strategy nor tactical plan!!! Wasted opportunity by HMS. Flawed Plan, during those 20+ hours the Russian sub could have destroyed the undersea cables. It is intuitively obvious to even the most casual military observer, the wait was a mistake.
