This cabin is strange, but it's mine and it's awesome. The stove is really strange and the shape of the cabin itself is not ordinary. The area however is great and the fishing is top-notch. Nothing like a first night in a cabin. So much to think about and so much to learn.

Congratulations Jay 👏 You guys are going to be very happy in your cabin. As soon as the hose melts if wrapped around a metal chimney. You'll be able to get it down. At least the hose. Prayer it didn't catch fire. Also invest in a foot pump for your mattresses. Looking forward to this journey you are embarking on. 🙏

Hi Jay. Nice to see you finally have your dream cabin. As far as your solar generator, the most efficient way (time wise) to charge it is with your Honda 2200 inverter. When your solar generator gets too low just hook up your Honda to it and charge it while still using it. About 1.5-2 hours later it’s fully charged and your set for however long it takes you to drain it again. Way faster than solar and will save you a ton of gas in the long run because your Honda won’t need to run steady. Again congrats buddy. You’re living the life.

Jay!!! It's Bridge!!! I am so stoked you are back at the cabin!! What a great video!!! Fireplace first thing.. LOL 😂😂 My wife and I are doing our 11th project.. Hopefully the last one!! LOL. We sold our house and bought 5 acres with a pole barn on it. The pole barn is going to be our house and we are putting up a 60' x 160' indoor riding arena. We can ride rain or shine or snow!! Check it out at Harmony's progress. Back to the cabin. I can feel your energy!! The excitement of a blank canvas and making it your own!! There is soooooo much potential in your cabin, man!! And you can fish!!! Cold water pike!! Tasty!!! I'm soooooo happy your cabin was not touched by fire!!! I praise God because I was praying for you and your cabin!!! Looking forward to all the renovations!!!! Great stuff!! Bridge

Thanks for sharing your first overnighter at the cabin! Great stuff. I was concerned when you pulled on the hose to the sprinkler. Since it is wrapped around the chimney and you had a fire going, that could be trouble! Looking forward to lots more on your new adventures.

Glad you made it through the evacuation! First project has to be a dock, saves you from having to get wet and protects the boat in all but the worst rivet twisting weather. Use a portable winch and comealong to pull it come winter. You can build it yourself and use blue barrels as floaters (plenty of those around town). There's a guy in town who drops off fire wood to your cabin when the ice is thick enough. You should get some to stock up the cabin, you might need it if you get stuck up there. Enjoy your new get-away place.

You are going to have a awesome time with that cabin. Putting your touches for you and your family. So when it gets sub-zero cold then you become a Ice Road Trucker. Your cabin has a lot of potential and it is going to be so awesome when you are done, which will not be done for many, many years. I will be looking for the other tent site and what is going on over there. I am glad that you did not lose either site to the wildfires. So, stay safe, warm/cool, and blessings.

Love the new cabin. You don't need to keep the jackery outside, get a duoble ended cable (yeah i know it's not code but neither is the cabin) and plug it into a wall socket in the cabin.

You will have that cabin whipped into shape, you’re already starting to utilize the space more efficiently. Can’t wait to see you switch out the stove. I’ve seen homemade wall ladders to get up on the loft that take up next to no space and would rid you of that large aluminum ladder. That is a really good start to an amazing cabin.

The second and third pike were good eater size. Bigger pike tend to be a little more mushy and tend to have a round worm in the flesh especially during the summer and in warmer water. The cabin is definitely going to give you tons of content to keep the channel going for years to come.

Since you have the gas generator and the jackery, you could use the jackery full time to power the cabin and charge the jackery with the generator once a day or so. That way you get the silence of the jackery and the power convenience of a gas generator.

As long as the burners work great, and you have that beautiful blue flame. You'll enjoy a nice cooked meal on them, every time. So many good memories I've had. Especially with a pump 3 burner Coleman stove. Enjoy your cabin Jay!
