I think I understand the lesson that is trying to be taught here, but one must be careful to not learn the wrong lesson in this context. Power itself is not bad. It is a little more than a tool, a means to an end. I think the danger comes when one of two things occurs: 1. One seeks power at all costs. The ends do not always justify the means, and if one is willing to cross any line to gain power, than they will simply become a tyrant and lose the purpose for why they sought power in the first place. Politicians are a great example of this. They will justify any action they take as being important to maintaining power, which in their mind is necessary to try and make meaningful change. We see countless cases where those in power will commit all manner of unspeakable acts for power, justifying it as being necessary to continue to develop good, only the good never comes (because the struggle for power never ends). 2. One doesn't fully understand the implications or impacts of their use of power. I call this the omnipotent but not omniscient problem. Power is meaningless without control, and a great deal of harm has been committed in the name of good intentions with overwhelming power. Anyone with power has the responsibility to wield their power wisely and a vast majority do not. While empowering oneself to seek improvement, not worry about the opinions of others, and be willing to bend the rules to do so is a fairly good lesson and many could benefit from it; I think the lesson misses important nuance that it is just one facet of a successful individual and one that could lead to unspeakably bad results if not tempered with other virtues. Sure you can ignore the opinions of others, but at the end of the day you still have to be able to look yourself in the mirror (being proud of your accomplishments) and still impact the lives of others even if their condition is no longer your concern. As an example, the speaker suggested that one should "act as your competition does" but what if your competition is torturing civilians (ex: Russia in the current Ukraine crisis)? Do you break all moral fabric in the pursuit of power? If so, what makes you any better than the tyrant you are replacing? Another example is drug prices. If all your competition is raising prices of insulin in an attempt to make a quick buck knowing that it will result in deaths for those who can't acquire it, do you raise prices in turn knowing that if noone makes it affordable, all your customers die and the industry fails? Such shortsighted power grabs usually result in a worse society for us all, and I certainly don't think the solution is "more of that".

No… someone with these ideas can’t be a public part of Yang’s campaign. The NYT and Yang’s leftist allies will absolutely tear him apart.

Feigning injury/diving/deceiving the referee is now considered a penalty. Soccer players can receive a yellow card for this. King Leo doesn’t play that way.
